Mercedes-Benz Concept Store opens in Great World Singapore

Mercedes-Benz Concept Store opens in Great World to drive conversations around sustainability in Singapore

Singapore. Mercedes-Benz Singapore and authorised dealer, Cycle and Carriage, unveiled a concept store in Great World Mall to showcase what sustainability means to the brand, and to work with other environmentally positive entities and personalities to explore, discuss and showcase sustainability while spurring the community on to carefully consider their own impact on the environment. The store will also be a retail point for the brand’s Mercedes-EQ electric vehicle models, with the upcoming EQS on exclusive preview at the store’s launch.

The store is launched in partnership with HYPEMAKER, global creative studio of HYPEBEAST, who are involved in bringing the store’s concept to life. Cycle and Carriage, will also collaborate with Mercedes-Benz Singapore in piloting a future-proof sustainable retail concept at the store.

Designed from the ground up with sustainability at its core, no detail is spared in the conceptualisation and execution of the store. Right from the choice of its location in Great World, a certified sustainable building, to more minute details like the use of non-harmful and sustainable paints and consumables within the store among other measures. The store is also in the midst of attaining its own Green Mark certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in Singapore.

The space is segmented into three zones – The Showcase, where visitors will be able to interact with Mercedes-EQ electric vehicle models, like the upcoming EQS luxury sedan, and learn from immersive displays on how the brand envisions the future of transport and society; Artist @ Work, where partners will be able to showcase their craft and collaborate with Mercedes-Benz in sharing new facets to the conversation around the environment with the store’s visitors; and The Takeover, where thematic and sustainable lifestyle concepts will be present for consumers to enjoy while they consider their own views on sustainability during their visit.

It aims to raise awareness around society’s impact on the environment and to spur consumers to take action against climate change.
  • Foreword Coffee Roasters, a coffee company and social enterprise who are committed to positive environmental and social impact all along their supply chain who will showcase how true impact necessitates action from the entire supply chain. Foreword Coffee Roasters will also be serving beverages for visitors to the store.
  • Mosscape, Singapore’s top provider of biophillic interior design concepts who will design and build a plant wall representing the state of our natural forests in Singapore in a bid to encourage visitors to consider how their day-to-day living is impacting the nature that is around us.

Mercedes-Benz and HYPEMAKER will continue to reach out to potential collaborators across different fields and disciplines to come and be a part of the space.

Mercedes-Benz continues to make progress in their commitment to be carbon neutral by 2039, outlined by Ambition 2039. As part of Ambition 2039, the group seeks to go all-electric by the end of this decade (2030) – where market conditions allow. As part of this goal, Mercedes-Benz will have battery electric vehicles in all segments that the company serves by this year (2022), and electric-only newly launched vehicle architectures from 2025 onwards. By this time, customers will be able to choose an all-electric alternative for every model it makes. Additionally, all passenger car and battery assembly sites run by Mercedes-Benz will be carbon neutral by this year (2022), and an entirely carbon neutral supply chain by 2039.

The Mercedes-Benz Concept Store opens to the public on 13 April, and can be found at #01-131- 132, Great World, 1 Kim Seng Promenade, Singapore 237994.
