At the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, Absolute, the Italian yacht-builder, plans to hold the global premieres of the Absolute Navetta 68 and the Absolute 47 Fly. It will also host the floating debut of the Absolute 62 Fly, which launched at Boot Düsseldorf in January.
Launching its 62 Fly in Düsseldorf, Absolute focused on maximizing comfortable cruising by designing in an open-plan main deck that extends from the aft cockpit to the forward helm.

The social opportunities for this open, naturally lighted space are obvious, but the area will also make a nice sanctuary on long-distance cruises.
Belowdecks, the 62 has three large staterooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and shower. The large master suite is located amidships, where the beam is broadest. The yacht also has a fourth double cabin for the crew in the aft section of the boat
During a recent sea trial, we tested the speed and manoeuvrability, as well as check for vibrations and observe other systems that can only be tested in the water.
While still at the marina we get on board and see and touch everything. Wiggle the grab rails to see the solid build of the yacht. Sit in the pedestal seats to see if they’re comfortable. Appreciate the luxurious leather on the seat. Open the storage compartments to be sure the hinges are solid.
For the sea trial, the engines will be cold when you fire it up for the first time. If the engine’s rotating assembly is going to make any funny noises, it will be when it’s cold. The starter engages smoothly and quietly. The engines did not rattle when started.
When you advance the throttle, we notice how easy it is for the boat to get on plane. Once up and cruising, take it to top speed. The boat is able to hold that speed with no trouble. We are satisfied with the result and bring it back down to cruising speed, usually 2,400 rpm. On average we recorded 31.0 Kts during 2,400 rpm in several tests. At that speed, we take the boat into right and left turns. The boat holds its line without hooking or washing out. While doing we listen for cautionary squeaks and rattles. There are none.
The 62 Fly is well-designed, and perform well during our sea trial.
Absolute 62 Flybridge
This boat is simply stunning. The accommodation is well above average with quality. With 3 huge staterooms, all with private bathrooms and separate showers and the midships master stateroom is full beam.
The large galley is positioned at the entrance to the saloon opposite a dining area and the expansive full lounge area is situated forward. A fourth cabin with 2 twin beds and private bathroom is placed at the stern and can be used for crew or for other guests as is luxuriously furnished and equipped with all comforts.
The large swim platform and fly bridge area plus the lounging area on the fore-deck give great outdoor options to compliment the generous internal spaces.
The propulsion is entrusted to two very efficient Volvo Paenta IPS 950D11 engines (725hp) able to push it well over 30 kts in any load situation.
