highlights from the Dolce&Gabbana Alta Moda Collection. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman goddesses, the designer duo expressed their love through a lavish and magical collection that was exuberantly presented in the Valley of Temples in Agrigento.
Set against one of the finest Greek artistic expressions, the Concordia Temple in the Valle dei Templi, Dolce&Gabbana displayed its breath-taking Alta Moda collection that encompassed the most intricate and lavish of techniques and workmanship for each creation. Presenting 125 looks, models paraded through the solemn columns in one of Sicily’s most important archaeological sites.
The Alta Moda collection drew inspiration from the location, evoking the enduring myths of classicism that have continued to fascinate poets, painters and sculptors for centuries with artisans having incessantly painted, embroidered and sewn their interpretations onto the garments. The magnificent pieces were also inspired by the beauty of ancient Greek and Roman goddesses including Athena, Hera, Aphrodite and Artemis who have been protagonists of countless works as symbols of timeless sentiments and values. Weaved into garments with meticulous artisanal proficiency, the result is an exquisite and unique collection, as well as a spectacular show.
