Modern Chinese tapas restaurant mìmì welcomes the Year of the Rat with a Lunar Soirée

Ring in the Chinese New Year with Mimi at The Riverhouse as they celebrate the lunar festivities with an enticing offering – Lunar Soirée, featuring three festive menus, and commencing from 17 January until 9 February 2020.
Perfect for Lunar reunions and gatherings with friends and family, Mimi welcomes guests into its convivial dining arena with an extensive Chinese New Year menu created by Head Chef Sam Chong and Executive Culinary Director Chef Daniel Koh. Mimi redefines Chinese dining through its approachable modern menu that incorporates both traditional and modern preparation techniques.

Ideal for celebrations and relaxed communal dining, the Lunar Soirée menus invite groups ranging from Set Menu A ($68++ per pax for four to six), Set Menu B ($88++ per pax for six to eight), and Set Menu C ($108++ per pax for eight to ten) to dine at Mimi. With each menu carefully curated, celebrants can expect a bountiful meal that will leave them with ‘prosperous’ bellies. Selected items are also available as ala carte options.
All set menus comprise the Mimi Prosperity Akagai Yu Sheng 鱼生捞起 ($48 for small, $88 for large) filled with premium ingredients, this yusheng contains Akagai ark shell clams, deep fried yam, pickled red ginger and winter melon, pomelo, deep fried salmon skin, truffle oil and yuzu dressing to name a few. Guests can add abalone to their prosperity toss at a top-up of $10 for a truly ‘huat’ time.
Set Menu A also includes Superior Collagen Broth 鹅肝云吞汤 with foie gras wantons, Braised Abalone with Mushrooms 鲍鱼天白菇, Ho See Fat Choy 蚝鼓发菜红烧肉 ($28.80++), an auspicious dish with wok-fried roasted pork, dried oysters and black moss, Herbed Sea Bass 香草焗金目昈 ovenbaked with herbs and fragrant oil, Mimi’s Signature Flaming Chicken 火焰烧鸡 flambéed in rose wine, Lotus Leaf Rice 荷香五子腊味饭 and Osmanthus & Aloe 桂花拉糕拼透心凉 aloe vera ice jelly and osmanthus cake for a refreshing dessert.
Set Menu B consists of Fish Maw with Crab Meat Soup 蟹肉竹笙鱼鳔羹, Dried Oysters & Pork Trotter 蚝豉发菜大元蹄, Abalone Yam Ring 鲍鱼海味芋圈 ($68++) filled with abalone and seafood, Mimi’s Signature Roast Duck 脆皮烧鸭, Salmon Sabayon 香煎三文鱼, Truffle Fried Rice & Scallops 黑松露双柱蛋白炒饭 ($28.80++), and Mango Pomelo Sago & Shanghai Sweet Stacks 杨枝甘露拼 豆沙锅饼, a crowd-pleasing mango dessert with a side of deep fried red bean paste pancakes.
For Set Menu C, guests can expect a nourishing Bird’s Nest Crab Meat Soup 蟹肉燕窝羹 ($28++), stewed Sea Cucumber & Duck 京葱海参扒鸭 ($48++ for half, $88++ for full), Black Cod 秘酱蒸雪 鱼 – a steamed black cod in Mimi’s secret sauce, Abalone Pork Trotter 红烧鲍鱼大元蹄 ($68++) a decadent braised trotter with plump abalone, Soy King Prawns 干煎大虾碌 ($28.80++), Lotus Leaf Rice ($19.80++ for small, $38.80++ for large), and Asian Pear 天山雪莲与桃胶配麻糬 – a rejuvenating dessert of stewed Asian pear with snow lotus and peach gum with a side of mochi.
Private Dining at Mimi
Tucked away in a secluded corner of The Riverhouse, Mimi’s private dining experience offers an intimate experience away from the main dining area. With scenic views overlooking the Clarke Quay fountain square, these opulent rooms can accommodate groups of varying sizes ranging from 6 to 16 pax. A minimum spend of $400 for lunch and $800 for dinner is required for a group of six pax. The larger room requires a minimum spend of $800 for lunch and $1,500 for dinner.
