The expanded wine programme featuring an unprecedented Bottle Keep component wherein both opened and unopened bottles from a list of 30 premium labels can be stored in the restaurant itself. Botanico’s wine programme offers a list of 30 premium wine labels, all rated 90 points and above by Wine Spectator, available by Coravin; and an even more extensive list which allows the purchase of full bottles for consumption in restaurant or at home. Above and beyond, Botanico breaks new ground by offering a Bottle Keep feature. Taking full advantage of the Coravin system’s trademark feature of allowing access to wine in bottle without need of cork removal whilst still maintaining quality and flavour, purchasing a full bottle of any of the 30 wines available by Coravin will automatically render this bottle eligible for storage in restaurant.
In brief, a bottle you’ve purchased from the 30 wine labels available by Coravin can be kept in Botanico. This applies no matter if the bottle has been accessed or not: an opened bottle for up to 2 weeks; an unopened bottle, up to a month.
Additionally, in celebration and in appreciation of their wine programme, Botanico will launch a fun initiative they’ve titled Wine O’Clock. From 6pm onwards on Sundays, all of Botanico’s house-pour red, white and rose wines as well as the house prosecco and moscatos will be priced according to the time the guest orders the drink. In other words: from 6pm, these wines will be priced at $6++ a glass; from 7pm, they’ll be $7++; and so on – all the way until 11pm. On Sundays, “wine-ing” down takes on a whole new meaning.
Botanico sates your Wine Lust
Botanico is also a strong presence in 2018’s Wine Lust (10 August – 10 September). Botanico’s participation is spread across each of the three branches of the event.
In ‘Wine Then Dine’, a convenient pre-purchase of wines at special retail prices, via Chope, can be served alongside a menu exclusively conceived for Wine Lust.
However, for those who prefer the charm of a daytime event where one can bask in a sunlit garden haven, it’s the Brunch Affair on 18 August that they’ll want to look out for.
Over 96 different wines from all over the world will be available for complimentary tasting at this ticketed event; served by trained staff, oenophiles can easily find out more about new favourites or purchase a bottle to cellar.
It needn’t be a secret affair, either: make a day of it with friends and family. With a brunch menu featuring both live stations and sumptuous spreads as well as live music playing in the enclosed garden, even nervous wine novices will find this an easy way to write the first few chapters of their wine adventure.
Alternatively, for an evening lit by stars, fairy lights and a memorable dining experience, reserve a seat at the four-hands dinner honouring Le Donne del Vino on 30 August. As its name suggests, the evening revolves around female powerhouses working in food and wine.
Clara Gentili of Fattoria Le Pupille
In particular, three of Italy’s finest female winemakers from three of Italy’s most esteemed wineries — Clara Gentili of Fattoria Le Pupille, Luisa Rocca of Bruno Rocca, and Tiliana Begali of Begali Lorenzo — will be participating from afar. All three “Women of Wine” cherry-picked favourite vintages and personally paired them with favourite family recipes, released from their own family archives specially for this occasion.
Singapore-based Italian chef Charlotte D’Isidoro.
Chef Sujatha Asokan
These family recipes will be prepared personally by Botanico’s own young and talented female head chef Sujatha Asokan alongside Singapore-based Italian chef Charlotte D’Isidoro. The six-course menu will also feature Botanico’s Asian-inflected contemporary European cuisine.
The Wine Lust Brunch Affair will be held on 18 August, 12 – 3pm, at $55++ per person.
Le Donne Del Vino is slated for 30 August 2018, 7 – 10pm, at $110++ per person.
