Taycan customers will enjoy the same complimentary and comprehensive five-year maintenance and warranty programme offered for all Porsche cars by Porsche Centre Singapore, with the battery warranty strictly for 8 years. Customers can opt to extend the vehicle warranty only, for up to ten years.

Established as the future High-Voltage Expert (HVE) training hub in Porsche’s Asia Pacific region, Porsche Centre Singapore is the only official Porsche appointed agent in Singapore that is able to handle the diagnosis and servicing of Porsche battery electric vehicles (BEV), as well as the testing and storage of Porsche BEV batteries according to Porsche standards. Boasting dedicated Porsche BEV tooling and equipment worth upwards of S$150,000, the dedicated air-conditioned high voltage BEV battery repair room’s facilities includes a safety box and quarantine room for critical batteries, complete with recycling process set up. Lastly, a BEV training car as part of the Porsche Aftersales Vocational Education programme is situated at the Service Centre to facilitate hands-on and interactive training for qualified Porsche HVE.

“As the sole authorised Porsche retailer in Singapore, we are committed to providing our customers with the ease and confidence of owning their first fully-electric Porsche. Our comprehensive maintenance and warranty programme covers all upkeep and repair costs, including regular wear and tear, for a truly seamless and hassle-free ownership experience. Furthermore, Taycan owners can be assured that their vehicles will be in good hands and professionally cared for by E-Performance specialists in our new electric-ready Porsche Service Centre, one of the first in Southeast Asia, that is set up with state-of-the-art equipment for advanced diagnosis and maintenance,” added Jason Lim, General Manager of Stuttgart Auto.

Charging solutions for Taycan customers

Porsche offers intelligent and holistic charging solutions for the Taycan models. Various Porsche Charging equipment will be available, including the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, Porsche Charging Dock and Charging Pedestal, and the Porsche Home Energy Manager.

In order to prepare for the optimal charging experience, an online pre-check is offered for interested customers in Singapore to check the basic prerequisites for using the Porsche Charging equipment at home or at the office.

Upon order confirmation, a certified electrical specialist appointed by Porsche Centre Singapore will conduct a full electrical and spatial check of the parking facilities at the customer’s residence or office, and if qualified, the Porsche Charging equipment will be installed. The installation will be consequently assessed and approved by a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW), as per Singapore regulations, to ensure safe charging.

In addition to home charging, the Taycan can also be charged at public charging stations islandwide and selected locations with charging options provided by Porsche are in planning. “Since the Taycan premiered in Asia Pacific to much excitement last year, developing strategic partnerships with exclusive destinations and charge point operators has been one of our priorities. This is to ensure Porsche customers in Singapore are presented with charging options at home, at Porsche Centre Singapore and other public locations,” said Henrik Dreier, General Manager – Singapore.

The Taycan is the first production vehicle with a system voltage of 800 V instead of the usual    400 V for electric cars. This architecture enables consistent high performance, dramatically reduces charging time at highly powered charging points, and decreases the wiring cable’s weight and installation space needed in the vehicle. The Performance Battery Plus, which comes as standard in the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, is a larger battery that can conduct higher currents, thus speeding up the charging process significantly. Under optimal conditions at 800 V charging stations, with a maximum charging capacity (peak) of 270 kW, the battery can be recharged for a range of up to 100 km (according to WLTP) in just over five minutes. Additionally, the charging time for five to 80 percent SoC (state of charge) is 22.5 minutes.

For charging at 400 V charging points, an on-board direct current (DC) charger with 150 kW is equipped as standard. Furthermore, a standard on-board alternating current (AC) charger with 11 kW allows the battery to be fully and gently charged in approximately nine hours.

Performance meets efficiency

The flagship Taycan Turbo S can generate up to 560 kW (761 PS) of overboost power in combination with Launch Control and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, the same acceleration figures as a 911 GT2 RS. The vehicle generates up to 1,050 Nm of torque with Launch Control and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h. It has a combined range of up to 405 km when the battery is fully charged. The Porsche Electric Sport Sound comes as standard, a unique acoustic accompaniment to dynamic driving.

The Taycan Turbo generates up to 500 kW (680 PS) of overboost power in combination with Launch Control and completes the zero to 100 km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds with maximum torque of 850 Nm with Launch Control. The combined range reaches up to 420 km when the battery is fully charged.

The third model, the Taycan 4S, produces up to 390 kW (530 PS) of overboost power in combination with Launch Control and accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Equipped with the Performance Battery, the vehicle has a combined range of up to 365 km when the battery is fully charged. The Performance Battery Plus on the Taycan 4S is available as an option, resulting in a notable performance increase of up to 420 kW (571 PS) of power, as well as an increased combined range of 414 km.

The Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S have two exceptionally efficient electric motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear axle, thus making the cars all-wheel drive. The two-speed transmission installed on the rear axle is an innovation developed by Porsche. Both the range and the continuous power of the drive benefit from the high efficiency of the permanently excited synchronous motors. The electric machine, transmission and pulse-controlled inverter are combined into a compact drive module.

Striking exterior features

With the renowned sporty roofline sloping downward to the rear, the Taycan is immediately recognisable as a Porsche. Distinguishing features of the Taycan Turbo S fitted as standard include the extremely lightweight Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) and exquisite carbon exterior elements. LED Matrix Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) are equipped as standard for the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, while the Taycan 4S comes with LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus).

The alloy wheels fitted on all models – 21-inch, 20-inch and 19-inch for the Taycan Turbo S, Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S respectively – have been optimised in terms of aerodynamics and weight. In addition to numerous paint finishes, such as Aurum or Deep Black Metallic, Exclusive Design Wheels with carbon aeroblades are available as customisation options.

Unique interior design

The original 911’s cleanly styled dashboard from 1963 was the inspiration for the Taycan. The freestanding 16.9-inch curved instrument cluster forms the highest point on the dashboard, while a central, 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional passenger display are combined to form an integrated glass band in a black-panel look. “Foot garages” – recesses in the battery in the rear footwell – ensure sitting comfort in the rear and allow the low sports car height.

An entire leather-free interior is fitted as standard for the Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo, and is an available option for the Taycan 4S. Interiors made from innovative recycled materials underscore the sustainable concept of the electric sports car.

Sustainable production

The environmental sustainability journey begins with its production – the Taycan is manufactured in a carbon dioxide-neutral production facility. Moreover, Porsche requires its suppliers to meet environmental and human rights compliance standards as it introduced a sustainability rating to the supplier procurement process in 2019. As part of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), Porsche strives to ensure that the entire value chain for raw battery materials is both socially and environmentally sustainable.
