The ‘140 Places’ convoy arrives in Singapore, bringing the brand’s global anniversary journey to the city. Set against the iconic backdrop of Gardens by the Bay, Mercedes-Benz will mark the convoy’s arrival with an immersive showcase that charts the brand’s 140-year story and offer a first look at the new S-Class ahead of its Singapore launch later this year.
On 29 January — the 140th anniversary of Carl Benz filing the patent for the world’s first automobile — the new SClass made its world premiere. On that same day, three S-Class saloons set off on a global drive spanning more than 50,000 kilometres across six continents, visiting 140 symbolic destinations around the world. Each stop reflects a chapter of the brand’s heritage, pioneering spirit, and worldwide presence.
To date, the convoy has covered more than 35,000 kilometres across 20 countries, journeying from Stuttgart through Europe and the Americas, before continuing across Asia. Following a drive through some of the continent’s most dynamic cities and landscapes, Singapore marks the conclusion of the convoy’s Asian chapter.
At the heart of the anniversary is “Welcome Home” — the feeling of ease, comfort and belonging that MercedesBenz has sought to create for customers for 140 years. It is a philosophy that continues to shape every innovation, experience and interaction with the brand.
“Singapore has been part of the Mercedes-Benz story for more than three decades, and we’re proud to bring the ‘140 Places’ convoy here. As a city synonymous with innovation and future-forward design, Singapore is the perfect stage to celebrate our spirit of progress and the pursuit of the extraordinary. We look forward to welcoming customers and the community to experience the future of luxury and automotive excellence, and to feel truly at home with Mercedes-Benz,” said Marcel Luis Mustelier Perez, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore.
Leading the convoy, the new S-Class embodies 140 years of Mercedes-Benz innovation, craftsmanship and pioneering spirit while setting the benchmark for luxury and automotive excellence for a new era. Ahead of its Singapore launch later this year, customers and fans of the brand will have an opportunity to experience the S-Class up close alongside a curated display of historic and contemporary models. The arrival of the convoy in Singapore also offers a glimpse into the next chapter of the Mercedes-Benz experience in the city.
As part of the brand’s 140-year celebration, Singapore has been selected as one of only a few cities worldwide to be home to a Mercedes-Benz Studio. Each Studio takes the feeling of ‘Welcome Home’ that customers know from behind the wheel and gives it a front door, turning a sense of belonging into a place they can walk into. Conceived as immersive city destinations, the Studios bring together culture, innovation, and community in a new expression of the brand beyond the automobile.
Set to open later this year at Gardens by the Bay, Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore will serve as a platform for product launches, community gatherings, and cultural collaborations.
“We are incredibly proud that Singapore has been selected to be home to a Mercedes-Benz Studio, joining only a small number of cities around the world chosen for this next chapter of the brand. Designed as a space that feels open, welcoming and deeply connected to the rhythm of the city, Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore will create new opportunities for customers and the community to experience the brand in new and unexpected ways. We can’t wait to share more ahead of the Studio’s opening later this year,” said Darren Ng, Head of Customer Excitement, Mercedes-Benz Singapore.
