Xiaomi Unveils Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi: Masterpiece Flagship Mobile Imaging with Essential Leica Imagery

 

Xiaomi today unveiled its next-generation Xiaomi 17 Series in Singapore, showcasing the company’s latest advances in mobile technology.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Series, Xiaomi’s latest flagship tablets, and a selection of Smart on the Go AIoT products were also introduced – including the Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 2026, Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner G30 Max, Xiaomi Pad 8 Series, Xiaomi Watch 5, Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W, Xiaomi Tag, and REDMI Buds 8 Pro- further expanding Xiaomi’s connected ecosystem. Showcasing its design ambition, Xiaomi also introduced Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, a visionary electric hypercar concept created for the legendary Gran Turismo franchise.

 

As a core focus of today’s announcement, Xiaomi also unveiled a major evolution of its partnership with Leica. The collaboration has been elevated from a highly successful Joint R&D framework to a new Strategic Co-creation Model, reflecting a deeper, end-to-end partnership.

Xiaomi × Leica: A Visionary Imaging Collaboration

Xiaomi continues its partnership with Leica to deliver a professional imaging experience on the Xiaomi 17 Series. Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo: A Hypercar Sculpted by Wind and Intelligence

As a continuation of its collaboration with Gran Turismo 7 and Polyphony Digital Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., Xiaomi has unveiled its first hypercar for the renowned racing simulation platform. Following an invitation from Kazunori Yamauchi, Producer of the Gran Turismo series, Xiaomi joins the Vision Gran Turismo project, becoming the first technology brand to contribute to this elite virtual collection of dream cars crafted by the world’s most visionary automakers. During the launch event, Tianyuan Li, Design Head of Xiaomi EV, unveiled Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, the 36th brand to join the project and the 51st Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle created for the legendary franchise.

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo is a concept electric hypercar sculpted by the wind. Its teardrop-shaped cabin is embedded within a body sculpted with cutouts and airducts, forming aerodynamic channels throughout the vehicle. The signature halo-shaped taillight serves as both a visual icon and a massive air outlet. Together with innovations like the Active Wake Control System and Accretion Rims, the car achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29, downforce of -1.2, and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1 through iterative simulated testing, reaching new heights in balancing low drag and high downforce for electric hypercars.

“Electric hypercars must answer a fundamental question,” said Li. “Do we pursue extreme low drag for straight-line speed, or maximum downforce to conquer corners? The optimal solution lies in finding the perfect balance between the two.” This approach impressed Yamauchi: “When I saw that Xiaomi had resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce, I was truly amazed.”

Inside, Xiaomi introduces the “Sofa Racer” concept. The dashboard, door panels, and seats flow together as one cohesive loop, a cocoon-like cabin that gently envelops the driver. Equipped with intelligent features including Xiaomi Pulse, which interacts with the driver through light and sound, the space creates an experience best described as racing on a sofa. True to the Xiaomi family, it is fully integrated into the “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem. Sensing the driver’s state and adapting to their mood, it transforms the car from a mere tool into an intuitive companion.

Following Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s record-setting Nürburgring performance and its integration into Gran Turismo 7, this latest creation represents the next chapter in the collaboration. It forges a path distinct from the fuel-powered past, one that Yamauchi believes “will become a role model for this era.”

Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will be on display at Xiaomi’s booth (Hall 3, 3M30) at Mobile World Congress 2026.
