AUDEMARS PIGUET OPENS ITS NEWEST AP HOUSE IN SINGAPORE

Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet opens its inaugural AP House in Singapore, nestled within the historic Raffles Hotel’s iconic Bar and Billiard Room. This 1,000-square-metre oasis transports visitors into the world of Audemars Piguet, drawing inspiration from the brand’s home in Le Brassus and the verdant nature that surrounds it. As Southeast Asia’s flagship destination, AP House Singapore seamlessly blends local flair with Audemars Piguet’s rich legacy and origins, offering an unparalleled experience for horology enthusiasts, novices and discerning travellers. The AP House Singapore also features the first-ever AP Cafe, serving a curated menu of select Swiss dishes reimagined through a Singaporean lens. This initiative reflects the island nation’s culinary heritage.

A GLOBALLY RECOGNISED LANDMARK

AP House Singapore is located within the grounds of the preeminent Raffles Hotel, at the storied Bar and Billiard Room. Founded in 1887, Raffles Hotel is often referred to as the Grande Dame of Singapore and has hosted countless dignitaries and celebrities through the years. The Hotel is a globally recognised landmark today with a reverence for heritage and tradition that deeply resonates with Audemars Piguet.

The Bar and Billiard Room was opened, later, in 1896 as the Hotel’s distinguished social hub for its esteemed guests and continues to stand as a treasured heritage building. As stewards of this historic location now, Audemars Piguet has meticulously preserved the building’s iconic architecture while also ensuring that the space within embodies the brand’s spirit of innovation and elegance.

AP House Singapore joins the ranks of over 20 Houses situated in some of the world’s most vibrant cities, including Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Milan, Mexico City, Munich, New York, Shanghai, Seoul, St Barths, Tokyo and Zurich. Developed in collaboration with some of the manufacturer’s most valued clients, the AP House concept imagines how the brand’s founders would live in the 21st century, travelling the world and sharing their passion for beautiful watches. The result is a sophisticated space, where comfort and human relationships take priority.

INSPIRED BY NATURE AND ITS RICHNESS

AP House Singapore is designed as an ultra-contemporary living space, where guests are invited to relax and explore Audemars Piguet’s universe in a blend of communal and private spaces with interiors inspired by the natural surroundings of Le Brassus and Singapore’s identity as the Garden City. Muted greens and gold-gilded accents add a touch of elegance, while organic materials such as wood and stone create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Towering Norfolk Pine trees anchor the corners of AP House Singapore, echoing the Spruce trees that are native to the brand’s hometown. Locally sourced, large sections of Rain Tree are incorporated into several focal points within the space, including a striking feature wall, a stylised coffee table in the lounge area, and a long dining table that serves as a family gathering place.

The stonework throughout AP House Singapore pays homage to the raw, elemental beauty of the Swiss Jura. A particularly arresting feature is the central bar, crafted from marble with solid end stones, each weighing approximately 800 kilograms.

The space is also dominated by arches that continue on from the building’s facade, crowning all of the AP House’s vast doorways and windows, flooding its 7-metre-high, expansive open spaces with natural light throughout the day.

ALL UNDER ONE SPECTACULAR ROOF

Audemars Piguet’s commitment to watchmaking is thoughtfully woven throughout the entire AP House Singapore. As guests enter the space, they are welcomed by three Watch Totems, each showcasing a curated selection of heritage pieces – from early pocket watches to more recent wristwatches – that highlight the manufacturer’s rich horological history. A striking Watch Wall at the centre of the space features a selection of its current collection, offering an immersive view of today’s timepieces at a glance. Guests are also invited to explore these watches firsthand, with guidance from dedicated Client Consultants.

AP House Singapore also offers a deeper look into Audemars Piguet’s broader cultural universe, seamlessly blending contemporary art, music, and gastronomy. The space includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen and a 5-metre dining table, setting the stage for intimate culinary experiences that echo the brand’s dedication to artistry and human relationships. Of the three private salons, one is exclusively devoted to music. Featuring a high-fidelity audio system and a curated selection of vinyl records, this salon reflects the shared principles of precision and craft that unite both watchmaking and music.

Additionally, AP House Singapore boasts a rotating exhibition space, hosting dynamic, immersive experiences that invite guests to explore not only Audemars Piguet’s watchmaking heritage and innovations but also other crafts that embody the brand’s pursuit of excellence and meticulous craftsmanship.

WORLD’S FIRST AP CAFE

Audemars Piguet is also unveiling its first-ever AP Cafe at AP House Singapore. Open to the public, the AP Cafe serves as an inviting gateway to the world of Audemars Piguet, providing an introduction to the brand for those who are yet to discover its rich heritage. Its soaring, majestic arched ceilings create a warm atmosphere welcoming loyal old friends of the brand and newcomers alike.

This new venture marks an exciting chapter for the brand, seamlessly blending its Swiss heritage with Singapore’s own. It reflects the brand’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the guest experience in an environment that celebrates the island nation’s deep culinary roots. The menu reimagines several Swiss dishes through a distinctly Singaporean lens, with each creation paying tribute to the creativity, precision and meticulous innovation that define Audemars Piguet’s watchmaking.
