Lady Trieu Gin: A Contemporary Vietnam Gin Inspired by a National Heroine

Lady Trieu Gin is a new brand of gin that was launched in 2020 by The Trieu Institute, a Vietnamese company that aims to create premium spirits that reflect the diverse cultures and flavours of Vietnam. The name of the gin is inspired by Lady Trieu, a legendary female warrior who led a rebellion against the Chinese invaders in the 3rd century AD. She is considered a national heroine and a symbol of strength, courage and independence.

Lady Trieu Gin is made with locally sourced botanicals that capture the essence of different regions of Vietnam. The gin comes in four variants, each representing a unique destination:

• Lady Trieu Mekong Delta Dry Gin: This gin showcases the rich and vibrant fruits and spices of the Mekong Delta, such as pomelo, lemongrass, ginger and star anise. It has a fresh and citrusy aroma, with a spicy and dry finish.
• Lady Trieu Dalat Flowerbomb Gin: This gin celebrates the floral and aromatic beauty of Dalat, a city known for its flower farms and cool climate. It features rose petals, lavender, chamomile and jasmine, creating a delicate and fragrant gin that is perfect for summer cocktails.
• Lady Trieu Hoi An Spice Road Gin: This gin pays tribute to the historic port city of Hoi An, which was once a hub of trade and commerce along the Silk Road. It incorporates exotic and warm spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, clove and nutmeg, giving it a complex and balanced flavour that evokes the ancient and modern charm of Hoi An.
• Lady Trieu Sapa Gin: This gin captures the essence of Sapa, a mountainous town in northern Vietnam that is home to various ethnic minorities and stunning natural scenery. It uses wild herbs and berries that grow in the highlands, such as mint, basil, raspberry and blueberry, creating a refreshing and fruity gin that reflects the diversity and harmony of Sapa.

In addition to these four variants, Lady Trieu Gin also recently introduced a new product: Lady Trieu Contemporary Vietnam Gin, which was first unveiled on September 30th, 2022 at The Trieu Institute Ho Chi Minh. This gin is a blend of the best ingredients from all four regions, creating a harmonious and versatile gin that can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with different tonics or cocktails. It has a bright and colourful label that features a sword with a flower at the tip, symbolizing Lady Trieu’s spirit of strength and grace.

Lady Trieu Gin is proudly made in Vietnam with high-quality craftsmanship and passion. It is distilled in small batches using traditional copper pot stills and filtered through charcoal for purity and smoothness. It has an alcohol content of 43% to 45%, depending on the variant. It is available in 750 ml bottles at selected retailers and online platforms.
