Bowers & Wilkins, the iconic British audio brand, has announced its partnership with the James Bond film franchise, which has brought us some of the most memorable movie scores in cinematic history. From the iconic theme music to each of the title songs, music has been a vital element in the James Bond films, and Bowers & Wilkins has been a part of this legacy for many years.
To celebrate this partnership and the 60th anniversary of the release of Dr. No, Bowers & Wilkins has launched a special edition of its Px8 wireless headphones, the Px8 007 Edition. These headphones come in a Midnight Blue finish inspired by the dinner jacket worn by Bond in his first onscreen appearance. They deliver high-performance wireless sound coupled with detailing that offers a subtle nod to the style of 007.
Giles Pocock, Vice President of Brand Marketing at Bowers & Wilkins, said, “We are immensely proud of our long-standing relationship with the James Bond franchise. Our new partnership gives us the perfect opportunity to highlight the close connection we’ve had with some of the iconic music of 007 over the years. Together, we will continue to celebrate the instrumental role that music plays in this global cultural phenomenon.”
Bowers & Wilkins’ relationship with the James Bond franchise is intertwined with its 40-year partnership with Abbey Road Studios, where its flagship 800 Series loudspeakers have been used to monitor the recording of countless film scores, including Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015). In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, Abbey Road Studios engineers used Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers to help create Bond 25, an album featuring all 25 iconic Bond themes with brand new arrangements recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Abbey Road Studio One.
The new partnership between Bowers & Wilkins and the James Bond franchise is an exciting development for both brands. It is a celebration of the integral contribution that music has made to the story of 007, and a testament to the enduring appeal of this cultural phenomenon. The Px8 007 Edition is a fitting tribute to this partnership, combining high-performance sound with the elegance and sophistication of James Bond himself.
The Px8 007 Edition will be available from 28 March 2023 at tcacoustic.asia and at the TC Acoustic flagship store at The Adelphi, retailing at S$1299.
