As the year draws to a close, ION Orchard is set to enter the joyous season by transforming into a magical and enchanting Christmas wonderland, in the hues of blue and gold. A key feature will be the mall’s annual signature outdoor Christmas masterpiece, created this year in partnership with Parfums Christian Dior.

Enchanting nights at ION Orchard
In collaboration with Parfums Christian Dior, the mall presents the Dior Enchanted Star, the largest Dior star in Asia spanning 15m tall at ION2 – the outdoor space at the L1 entrance of ION Orchard – making for a visually stunning spectacle with over 20,000 lightbulbs surrounding it.
In addition, an impressive one-night line-up of outdoor performances to officially launch the celebrations, by the likes of Catriona Grey and Benjamin Kheng will happen on Friday, 4 November, 2022. Regional artistes Heart Evangelista, Chau Bui, Jessica Mila Agnesia and more will also be gracing the grand event. Visitors should not miss the Parfums Christian Dior’s ‘The Atelier of Dreams’ Pop-Up where they can witness the Dior Constellation come to life through exclusive AR filters and experience Dior’s art of gifting. Visitors can also customise their holiday greeting cards with limited edition Dior stamps designed by local artist Tiffany Lovage while indulging in exclusive Christmas cupcakes by The Marmalade Pantry. To wrap up their special Christmas experience at the installation, shoppers will also enjoy exclusive deals, goodies and promotions when shopping for gifts at Parfums Christian Dior ION Orchard (located on level B2) from 4 November 2022 to 1 January 2023.
New designer brands and F&B delights add to the festive cheer
Before the year ends, ION Orchard will welcome global brands Christian Louboutin, Desigual, The Onitsuka, D&A Jewellery, and V-ZUG, as well as the revamped Nespresso, Massimo Dutti and Hugo stores, all with promising new store concepts and exclusive collections. This is part of the mall’s periodic refresh to engage both current and new shoppers to discover ION Orchard. In August this year, & Other Stories, a Swedish fashion brand, opened its first and only store in Southeast Asia. A cult favourite, & Other Stories provides shoppers with a full line-up of ready-to-wear, accessories as well as beauty products.
In addition, there will be new cuisine options to choose from when dining at ION Orchard with the opening of Guzman Y Gomez Mexican Kitchen and Surrey Hills Grocer, an artisanal Australian grocer and café which serves authentic Australian fare with a local spin, and retails premium responsibly sourced, quality products directly from Australian farmers.
Puzzle Coffee, an Australian coffee house that offers specialty coffee with bakes will also provide a relaxing space for shoppers to bond with their friends and loved ones over coffee and desserts in their first Singapore outpost.
Greater connectivity and convenience through Thomson- East Coast Line
This November, commuters will also be able to access ION Orchard more conveniently with the extension of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). With an underground linkway from the MRT to the mall at Basement 1, the TEL will provide members and shoppers easy access to the mall from all corners of the island, so they can explore the mall’s various offerings.
Collaboration with Insect Feed Technologies for a more wholesome, green future
As part of the mall’s vision to encourage a more sustainable way of living, ION Orchard launched its “LOVE OUR WORLD” sustainability campaign earlier this year, which aims to educate shoppers on climate change and promote green efforts such as reduce, reuse, and recycle as well as encourage shoppers to embark on a sustainable journey.
As part of its eco-conscious journey, ION Orchard will take a further step towards its goal of driving sustainable efforts at the mall – this time with the food waste generated. The intent to incorporate food waste recycling started in 2021 and to address this need, ION Orchard approached RE Sustainability Solutions to explore a circular food waste recycling method through the latter’s partner Insect Feed Technologies. Thus inspiring the idea of using black soldier flies as a decomposer to break down food into a material which can be used as fertiliser at vegetable farms.
Sean Tan, Founder & CEO of Insect Feed Technologies said, “ION Orchard is the first shopping mall that we are working with to upcycle food waste. I hope that our partnership will increase the awareness of food waste, sustainability, and circular economy for the general public. In addition, ION Orchard is using our insect frass organic fertiliser for their landscaping needs, making it the first mall to do so. They have been a great partner, so I’m really excited to develop a deeper and longer term partnership.”
