Raffles Courtyard presents Hawker Stories at Raffles Courtyard, a series celebrating popular hawker specialties and the homegrown culinary talents behind them. From 16 March to 29 May, Hawker Stories at Raffles Courtyard will give a new lease of life to beloved hawker stalls that had shuttered during the pandemic and allow the community to rediscover delectable culinary creations. Each hawker has been specially handpicked in collaboration with local food company Makansutra and its founder KF Seetoh. From 5.00pm – 9.00pm daily, the hawkers will serve their specialty dishes amidst the lush alfresco setting of Raffles Courtyard, over four instalments.

The first instalment of Hawker Stories at Raffles Courtyard begins on 16 March with modern Indian specialties by chef-owner Pasha Siraj of former hawker stall Luckmeow which shut its doors in September 2021. Guests have the opportunity to revisit favourites from their hawker stall and sample the new charming Indian-fusion fare crafted by chef-owner Pasha Siraj.

In the following months, the culinary series will continue to delight guests with its exciting line-up of other outstanding homegrown hawker talents in Singapore, including chef and hawkerpreneur Hady Jay of Mr Tersmell, whose specialties include traditional Malay delicacies Pulut Kuning and Pulut Hitam; veteran hawker David Lim from the grandson of the renowned Hock Lam Beef Noodle founder and owner of Empress Place Teochew Beef Kway Teow; and Darren Teo and Henry Yap of specialty fusion hawker stalls Seafood Pirates and Yap’s Noodles respectively, which were shuttered during the pandemic lockdown. Since their closure, Darren and Henry have teamed up to open 51 Noodle House, which serves special fusion noodle dishes.

Since 2020, Singapore’s vibrant hawker culture has been officially inscribed in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. As a heritage icon with its own history, Raffles Hotel Singapore provides a fitting gathering space for the community to revisit familiar hawker favourites, explore new hawker delights, and even mingle with hawkers in-person.

Savour popular creations of the culinary series and receive a stamp on a special card by ordering a bundle from each instalment. Collect stamps from three series instalments and be rewarded with a complimentary bottle of Domaine de Fontenille Rosé, exclusively available at Raffles Hotel Singapore, on your next visit. The complimentary bottle of Rosé can only be redeemed at Raffles Courtyard by submitting the stamped card. Redemption is valid until 31 August 2022 and while stocks last.
