New IHG® Hotels Openings To Get Excited About
IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group) is expanding their luxury and boutique portfolio, including properties from InterContinental®, Kimpton®, Regent® and Hotel Indigo®, with exciting new openings in 2020. From Asia to Europe and the Americas, IHG will be extending its global footprint to unveil the following:
Hotel: Kimpton® Maa-Lai Bangkok Opening date: April 2020 About: Marking the debut for the brand in Southeast Asia, the Kimpton® Maa-Lai takes its name from the traditional flower garland presented as a token of welcome, good health and respect to guests, loved ones and relatives. The hotel will feature 349 rooms, including 124 serviced residences. Nestled in the heart of the Langsuan area, the hotel sits beside Lumpini Park, one of the largest parks in the city. Guests can look forward to two restaurants with the signature Kimpton flair, Stock Room and Ms. Jigger, and two bars, CRAFT and Bar Park, a rooftop bar.
Hotel: Regent® Phu Quoc Opening date: Q4 2020 About: Set by the waterfront, Regent Phu Quoc stands in Bai Truong’s Phu Quoc Marina, and will offer 400 hotel rooms and private residences, all with sea views. Facilities on-site include world-class dining experiences, a private beach, spa, as well as pool and gym. Recognised by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve in 2006, and with half of the island covered by a National Park, Phu Quoc provides the perfect canvas for an idyllic holiday.
Hotel: InterContinental® Yao Yai Resort Opening date: Q4 2020 About: Located on the up-and-coming Koh Yao Yai, a serene and pristine island in Southern Thailand. Typified by palm-fringed beaches, mountainous rainforest and timeless traditional villages, the area is easily accessed from Phuket or Krabi, yet a world away in the vacation experience. Hotel: Kimpton® Bali Nusa Dua Opening date: Q4 2020 About: The natural beauty of the Nusa Dua coastline and lush volcanic hillsides make for a perfect backdrop to Kimpton Bali. Here, 50 luxury villas serve as a lifestyle sanctuary that will embrace local Balinese culture while delivering a genuine experience on the Island of the Gods. Hotel: Hotel Indigo® Hakone Gora Opening date: Early 2020 About: This is the first Hotel Indigo property to open in Japan, and will be a place where guests and locals alike can gather and enjoy the rich culture and history of Gora. The neighbourhood is unparalleled with its famous pastel coloured hot springs surrounded by majestic, green mountains and the charms of nature that change with the seasons. The lobby entrance is inspired by the traditional tea houses of the past, while the wood panelling features patterns famous throughout all Japan and specific to Hakone. With 98 rooms and suites, each featuring a traditional Japanese bathtub with natural onsen water, Hotel Indigo Hakone will provide guests with an unforgettable rejuvenating experience.
Hotel: InterContinental® Chongqing Raffles City Opening date: Early 2020 About: Located in front of the famous Chao Tian Men Square, the hotel will have 380 guest rooms and suites that provide stunning views of Yangtze and Jialing River. The SkyCrystal, located on the 42nd floor, connects four skyscrapers at the height of 250 meters with views over the bustling Yuzhong District. The hotel’s Chaotianmen Grand Ballroom will be the largest in the city, offering 1200sqm of space and floor to ceiling windows overlooking Chao Tian Men Square and Yangtze River.
Hotel: Kimpton® Shinjuku Tokyo Opening date: Q2 2020 About: Kimpton® Shinjuku combines a style and ethos inspired by New York’s arts scene with exquisitely-detailed Japanese handcrafted artisanal traditions. The result is a curated canvas with intricate interiors that are guaranteed to inspire. Close to the iconic Shibuya crossing, the hotel sits in the heart of fashionable Shinjuku. City locals and travellers alike will be able to satiate their appetites at The Jones, a New York-inspired café, The District, a restaurant that features an outdoor terrace and Eighty-Six, a rooftop bar open only to VIPs.
Hotel: Kimpton® Vividora Hotel Opening date: February 2020 About: Kimpton Vividora Hotel will mark the brand’s debut in a new European market: Spain. The hotel will be located in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, tucked away on a pedestrian street. Guests will enjoy being just a few steps away from charming boutiques, buzzy restaurants and stunning centuries-old architecture that can be found along the neighbourhood’s narrow winding roads and in its lively plazas. Hotel: Kimpton® Clocktower Hotel Opening date: Spring 2020 About: A 10-minute walk from Piccadilly Station, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is visible from all around thanks to its clocktower. It is less than five minutes by foot from the world-famous LGBTQ area of Canal Street, and a short walk from the city centre’s shopping malls and department stores. Located in the heart of the city, opposite Oxford Road Station, the impressive property has 270 rooms. Renowned for its award-winning collection of seasonally-inspired restaurants and bars, at the heart of Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is The Winter Garden, a space full of natural light, where guests can sit back and relax for a drink or a meal, whatever the time of day or night. Hotel: Hotel Indigo® Verona Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Constructed in the early 1920s, this elegant building was once the private residence of the Reichenbach family, members of the Austrian nobility. Subsequently, the property was respectfully transformed into preserving its architectural beauty. The hotel features 62 guest rooms and suites, a bar, an elegant breakfast room, two meeting rooms that can seat up to 120 people and a relaxing garden with an adjacent courtyard. A city-centre location makes it the ideal choice for guests wanting to explore the best of what Verona has to offer.
Hotel: Kimpton® Paris Opening date: Late 2020 About: Kimpton will open in one of Paris’ most sought-after districts, near the famous Paris Opéra. The historic building will be fully transformed with Kimpton’s signature bold and playful design, featuring 149 guest rooms including 27 suites, luxury spa and fitness facilities. The hotel’s meeting space overlooks the Parisian streets, buildings and rooftops, for a truly memorable view. The hotel will offer the brand’s innovative design and personal approach to guest service, using thoughtful perks and amenities, and a sense of delight, to make guests feel truly at home.
Hotel: Kimpton® Bozeman Opening date: Early 2020 About: Kimpton will be debuting its first property in Montana, a historic building in the heart of downtown Bozeman. The 122-room hotel is set in the former National Guard Armory building, which was built in 1941 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In keeping with the building’s history, the design will retain the original Art Deco style created by famed Bozeman architect Fred Willson. The hotel will feature a signature restaurant, a whisky and bar centric speakeasy featuring music and live entertainment, and 8,000sqf of meeting and event space. The new hotel will also feature a concert hall designed to attract top musical performances, as well as a rooftop pool and bar where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Bridger Mountain Range. The hotel’s location will attract a broad spectrum of outdoor enthusiasts, with Yellowstone National Park as well as Big Sky and Bridger Bowl ski resorts at its doorstep. In addition to Bozeman’s premiere outdoor offerings, which extend to incredible biking trails and fishing adventures, the city is also home to a vibrant art and music scene.
Hotel: Hotel Indigo® Spokane Opening date: Early 2020 About: Dating from 1911, the historic building in Spokane’s downtown area is being brought back to its former glory following an extensive refurbishment. The five-story, 112-room Hotel Indigo® Spokane will feature a restaurant and bar, fitness center, business center and 1,500sqf of meeting space. Located less than one mile from the Spokane Convention Center and Spokane Falls, it is just two blocks from River Park Square.
Hotel: Hotel Indigo® Chattanooga – Downtown Opening date: Early 2020 About: Hotel Indigo® Chattanooga is set right in the heart of Chattanooga’s downtown district, making it the ideal launch pad for a visit to the Gateway to the Deep South. It is located in a bustling area of the city, on the banks of the Tennessee River, with access to popular attractions such as the world’s largest freshwater aquarium. Hotel: Hotel Indigo® Miami Brickell Opening date: Early 2020 About: The 140-room Hotel Indigo® Miami Brickell is designed by Sanchez + Coleman Studio and set in the heart of Miami’s ever-rising Brickell, the city’s financial district and urban haven. The hotel sits close to (free) public transport, state-of-the-art shopping districts and stylish dining spots. Guests will be able to take advantage of a variety of amenities, including a 2,000sqf meeting room, gym, and outdoor pool and lounge.
Hotel: Kimpton® Pittman Hotel Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Kimpton is set to open in the Deep Ellum district of Dallas, solidifying its role in revitalising one of the most historically significant neighbourhoods in the region. Originally the historic Knights of Pythias Temple (subsequently the Union Bankers Trust Building), the building was designed in 1916 by architect William Sidney Pittman. The hotel will include 165 guest rooms, more than 5,000sqf of meeting space, a signature restaurant, bar and lounge, outdoor patio, pool and fitness centre. Keeping true to the building’s history, the design will retain the original Beaux-Arts structure and the integrity of the fourth-floor ballroom where celebrated blues musicians such as “Blind Lemon” Jefferson, Robert Johnson and “Lead Belly” Ledbetter performed.
Hotel: Kimpton® Kawana Bay Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Located in the southeastern Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines, Grenada’s tropical climate and cooling trade winds make for idyllic temperatures yearround. Nicknamed the “Spice Island,” the beautiful, exotic country is rich in local history and culture, providing inspiration to Kimpton’s locally-minded design talent. The name of the resort itself, Kawana Bay, pays homage to the native leatherback turtles, named “Kawana” by the Carib Indians when they settled the island in 1300 AD. A hillside retreat tucked away between tropical rainforest cliffs and the world-renowned Grand Anse Beach, the luxury resort will offer picturesque views and instant access to the southeastern Caribbean Sea and surrounding mountains. The 146-key resort will comprise 101 luxury studio rooms and 45 suites. A number of Kawana Bay’s suites will include private pools overlooking Grand Anse Beach, largely considered to be one of the world’s best beaches, and all rooms will feature spectacular ocean views.
Hotel: Kimpton® Mexico City Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Mexico will see Kimpton® Hotels & Resorts open its first two properties in 2020. The high-end boutique hotels will be located in the upscale neighbourhood of Polanco in Mexico City, and will feature select room counts: one with 32 guestrooms and the other with 48 guestrooms. Both will offer a signature restaurant and rooftop bar. The dynamic Polanco neighbourhood is home to numerous high-end boutiques, restaurants and art galleries. Culturally diverse and always evolving, Mexico City is an epicentre for historical and modern architecture and world-renowned culinary offerings.
Hotel: Hotel Indigo® NYC Financial District Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect, Hotel Indigo® NYC Financial District is the brand’s second hotel in Manhattan. The hotel features a ground-floor restaurant and bar, and 25th-floor bar promising panoramic skyline and river views. With a location three blocks from the resurgent South Street Seaport and two blocks from the New York Stock Exchange, it will be in demand by business and leisure travelers alike.
Hotel: InterContinental® Punta Piqueros Opening date: Mid 2020 About: Located on a rock known as Punta Piqueros in the district of Concon, this hotel overlooks the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. The hotel boasts spectacular views of neighbouring Viña del Mar, the weekend getaway spot for Santiago’s well-heeled, and the colourful and bohemian port city of Valparaiso. The 140room hotel offers five suites and a variety of ways to wine and dine with two restaurants, a wine bar and a pool bar. The expansive gym and spa span 10,000sqf and feature treatment rooms, pool and sauna to ensure guests can properly unwind.
Hotel: Kimpton® Roatan Resort Opening date: 2020 About: The largest of Honduras’s Caribbean Bay Islands, Roatán sits atop the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest barrier reef in the world, making its turquoise waters a sought-after destination by snorkel and scuba diving enthusiasts and adventure tourists alike. Roatán has a rich history tracing back to its indigenous Paya peoples and is regarded as the gateway to Central America. Nestled on the pristine white sands of West Bay Beach, Kimpton Roatán aims to celebrate the island’s diversity and local culture in its thoughtful artwork, incorporating Paya artifacts loaned from the national museum into its destination spa. Hotel: Kimpton® Omaha Opening date: 2020 About: Kimpton is set to open its first property in Nebraska, in the popular and vibrant Blackstone District of Omaha. The century-old property was built in 1916 in the heart of the city and is one of the earliest structures in Nebraska listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is steeped in history – it was once the premier hotel for travellers travelling between Chicago and San Francisco and Richard Nixon announced his presidential run from the Grand Ballroom in 1967. In its heyday, the Orleans Room was the most famous restaurant in the city, as well as the birthplace of the Reuben sandwich. The hotel will feature 205 guestrooms, a steakhouse, and the reimagined celebrated Cottonwood Room bar. A swimming pool in a resort-style setting and almost 11,000sqf of meeting space including the restored famed rooftop Grand Ballroom make it the ideal option for guests wanting to sample some of Kimpton’s signature flair in Nebraska.

Finished with Calacatta marble, European oak, lush leathers, bold metals and original artwork by local artist, it is a designlovers dream. Experience hand-turned pasta and heath-fired pizzas in Bargello Restaurant, or craft cocktails in District 42. The hotel has spectacular views over the city or mountains and also plays host to Kimpton’s famous evening Social Hour.
