Stelvio, the first-ever SUV from Alfa Romeo, EuroAutomobile

FCA Alfa Romeo Stelvio

With the unveiling of the forthcoming Stelvio, Alfa Romeo is introducing a new take on the luxury-class SUV segment. As part of the company’s expansion into a distinct product category, the Stelvio is poised to deliver an exhilarating driving experience and outstanding performance with its sporty and seductive styling.
• State-of-the-art technology for impeccable handling and an exceptional driving experience worthy of a sports car.
• The Alfa Romeo’s Q4 system provides the reassurance of an all-wheel drive system in real time, combined with the pleasure of rear-wheel drive.
• Perfect weight distribution and ideal power-to-weight ratio, delivered by the exclusive AlfaLink™ technology.
• 100% Alfa Romeo Italian sporty design. To achieve this visual poise involves combining the three main ingredients of Alfa Romeo’s historic tradition: proportion, simplicity and superior surfacing.

EuroAutomobile is pulling back the covers on the premium SUV segment with the long-awaited Alfa Romeo Stelvio Super, available exclusively from December 2018 at
EuroAutomobile, the sole distributor of Alfa Romeo in Singapore since 2004.
Once again, Alfa Romeo has broken new ground by introducing its first-ever SUV. The Stelvio Super is poised to deliver a thrilling driving experience and outstanding performance with its sporty and seductive styling. The Stelvio Super’s list price is estimated at S$238,000 with COE after homologation. It should have a VES band of C2, with a S$20,000 surcharge.
For the first time in more than a century of its history, the distinctive features of the genuine “Alfa spirit” have come together in a sports utility vehicle. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio continues the tradition of aesthetics, luxury and prestige, and raises the bar in the medium-sized premium SUV segment .

Premium performance, born from a racing pedigree.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Super features an all-aluminium 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, and produces 200 horsepower and a maximum torque of 330Nm. The eight-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift technology delivers a superior balance between driving pleasure and efficiency. With a top speed of 215km/h, the Stelvio Super accelerates from 0-100 in 7.2 seconds for a thrilling experience.

Agile driving and exciting handling bred for the road.
The Stelvio Pass–from which the Alfa Romeo Stelvio earned its name–is Italy’s highest mountain pass and remains highly popular for motorsports and Grand Tours throughout the year. Picked by the British automotive show Top Gear as the “greatest driving road in the world”, the Stelvio Pass runs overs 20 kilometres with more than 75 hairpin bends, providing an exhilarating drive for those who dream of a challenge.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is thus built to excel in all driving conditions. Combining the petrol engine with the innovative Q4 All-Wheel-Drive System guarantees unbeatable performance, traction and safety. The Q4 system continuously monitors road conditions to ensure perfect 50/50 weight distribution is transferred across both the front and rear axles.
The exclusive AlfaLink™ rear suspension designed with vertical rods enhances performance, driving pleasure and passenger comfort. By keeping the Stelvio’s tires firmly planted on the tarmac, the driver’s connection to the road is improved, and every turn is remarkably stable.
The Stelvio’s Chassis Domain Control serves as the SUV’s “mind”, and coordinates all the active systems by optimizing performance and drivability–regardless of weather conditions–to deliver the utmost driving experience. For the first time ever, Alfa Romeo is introducing a luxury-class SUV that is safe and fun to drive in almost all situations.
The Stelvio’s technology is paired with premium materials; the generous use of carbon fibre for the drive shaft and aluminium for the engine and suspension redefines Alfa Romeo’s presence in the premium SUV segment. In true Alfa Romeo tradition, the Stelvio embodies impeccable handling and peace of mind for the driver and passengers to share the pleasure of “the greatest drive”, regardless of the destination.

Innovative engineering for unbeatable safety.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio raises the bar in safety with its sophisticated safety systems. Having made its debut with the Giulia, the Integrated Brake System (IBS) is included in the Stelvio. The electromechanical system combines a traditional servo brake with stability control to deliver instantaneous braking for shorter stopping distances.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection warns the driver of a potential front collision and activates the braking system automatically.
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) prevents the vehicle from straying across the boundaries of its lane, and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Rear Cross-Path Detection continuously monitors the blind spots on both sides of the Stelvio, alerting the driver in the event of potential hazards. Also included is the Active Cruise Control which automatically adjusts the speed according to traffic conditions.

A truly Italian Alfa Romeo ensemble – the striking exterior.
The Stelvio’s impressive size is designed to mesmerize and create a sense of authority. The striking exterior expresses strength and dynamism, while its intently focused lines exude a perfect blend of tradition and sophistication. Combining the three design elements of Alfa Romeo–proportion, simplicity and premium surfacing–preserves the company’s tradition of seductive styling and an air of exclusivity.
The result is a handsome and aerodynamic Sports Utility Vehicle with an unmistakable Alfa Romeo presence. The Stelvio Super’s artfully chiselled surfaces and sophisticated flourishes come together to make a charismatic statement of visual poise and prestige. With 13 body colours and 13 different alloy wheels to choose from, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is a masterpiece of aesthetics and engineering.
Visual poise in the driver’s cabin.
The driver’s seating position is central — a concept underlined by the cabin’s diagonal tunnel, the slightly undulating dashboard, and the small, direct-ratio, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel that adapts to different driving styles. The ample-sized surfaces and the clear edges of the console wrap around the driver for a sense of control. The 7-inch full-colour Driver Information Digital Cluster Display adds a touch of class, and features a double binnacle design — a nod to Alfa Romeo’s historic interior design. The Stelvio’s speed, RPMs and other essential information is easily accessed through the cluster display. Two rotary controls offer a minimalist approach for the driver to easily access the Alfa DNA Driver Mode Selector and the Alfa Connect system. The 8.8-inch high-resolution Alfa Connect display is sited next to the Digital Cluster, creating an effect of continuity along the luxurious and striking dashboard. Developed in partnership with Magneti Marelli (manufacturer of high-tech components for automobiles), the Alfa
Connect with its integral 3D navigation function represents a new frontier in infotainment.

Modern aesthetics brought alive by a touch of class – the interior.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio’s roomy cabin is tailored like a bespoke suit — luxurious and stylish. The panoramic sunroof gives occupants a sense of lightness and an air of exclusivity, while enhancing the high-class ambience that Alfa Romeo is known for. The sense of space is accentuated by the subtle effect of the sun rays gently illuminating the modern design of the interior cabin. Finer details can be found on the interior leather trims and sport seats, painstakingly crafted with the selective use of premium materials. Leather, full-grain, real woods and modern fabrics are carefully chosen for their visual and tactile appeal to give a palpable sense of human artistry.

Underscoring the luxurious approach is the sophisticated Alfa Connect display brimming with connectivity for drivers to stay connected with Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ without taking their eyes off the road. The state-of-the-art infotainment system is further brought alive by the virtual symphony of the Harman-Kardon audio system.

On-board comfort and well-being for driver and passengers.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio brings Italian hospitality into the world of medium-sized premium SUVs, immersing the driver and passengers with a sense of space. The generous-sized interior is exclusive, tasteful and elegant, while providing plenty of room for passengers to enjoy and share the pleasures of travelling together.
Thanks to the Stelvio’s Alfa DNA selector and high driving position, the driver has complete control and mastery over the road, which is expected from a genuine Alfa Romeo sports car. The dual-zone climate control system and sophisticated Alfa Connect infotainment system ensures total on-board comfort for both the driver and passengers. The Stelvio is prepared for any contingency, which is why the 525-litre boot has all the extra space for any planned or unplanned events.
The Cassino plant behind the new-generation Alfa Romeo models.
The Stelvio SUV is built at the famous FCA plant at Cassino (Frosinone)—one of the Group’s most futuristic locations—on a production line used exclusively for new Alfa Romeo models. Founded in 1972 close to the historic Benedictine abbey, the Cassino plant is equipped with leading-edge technologies for premium car manufacture, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection.
The glamorous Giulia, known for its revolutionary style and sporty performance that launched Alfa Romeo into a new era in 2015 was built on that very same plant. Today, the same ingredients—adapted to the luxury SUV segment—continues to live in the heart and soul of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
