Volvo Cars Singapore announced the arrival of the fully electric  Volvo ES90, a flagship model that redefines the notion of modern electric luxury, while establishing new standards of innovation and safety.

In a class of its own, the ES90 is designed for a life in balance. It introduces a new and distinct silhouette that is more practical than a sedan and more efficient than an SUV, delivering greater functionality, generous space, superior comfort, remarkable efficiency, extended range, and an unmatched driving experience. The clean, minimalist lines and thoughtful details reflect Volvo’s Scandinavian design ethos.

The ES90 is engineered to lead the electric transition and was designed to evolve over time. Powered by next-generation core computers that represent an eightfold improvement over the previous generation, it is the first Volvo car to feature 800V technology as standard, enabling significantly faster DC charging times and a long WLTP range of up to 661km for the long-range variant.

With high performance core computing powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin, the ES90 is the most powerful Volvo ever in terms of computing capacity.

 

Safe Space Technology: A car that keeps driver, passenger and pedestrians safe

The ES90 has been designed to help protect everyone in and around the car and was built in accordance with Volvo’s rigorous Volvo Cars Safety Standard, backed by decades of real-world safety research. Developed to meet the needs of various real-world scenarios and powered by powerful core computers, the ES90 continues the era of safety established with the EX90.

The ES90 comes with a strong safety cage, state-of-the-art restraint systems, as well as optimised deformation zones. To help enable vision beyond human range and avoid collisions and hazards on the road, the active safety systems are powered by an advanced array of sensors including five radars, seven cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The ES90 also has Volvo’s pioneering driver understanding system, which can detect when the driver’s attention is no longer focused on the road and step in to support.

Volvo’s Safe Space Technology supports beyond the driving experience. In park mode, the door opening alert in the ES90 helps to look out for cyclists or pedestrians passing by when the doors are opened. The ES90’s full-cabin occupant sensing also ensures drivers do not leave loved ones behind in the car, with capabilities to sense submillimetre scale movement, including the soft breathing of a baby.

 

Sophisticated Scandinavian Aesthetics Paired with Roomy Comfort

 

The design makes a confident, distinctive statement. A slightly raised ride height offers a commanding driver view, while the flowing roofline balances elegance with interior space, and enhances aerodynamics for improved efficiency and range. The front features the signature Thor’s Hammer headlights, while the rear showcases new C-shaped LED rear lamps. Customers can choose from seven exterior colours and fourwheel design options, ranging from 20 to 22 inches.

Practicality is central to the ES90’s design. The large tailgate provides easy access to 424 litres of boot space, expandable to 904 litres with the three individually foldable rear seats folded down. A 27-litre frunk at the front is ideal for charging cables.

Inside, the ES90 combines premium comfort, authentic materials, and purpose-driven design. Its 3.1-metre wheelbase ensures generous second-row legroom, making it ideal for long journeys. Offering a renewed incar experience, the ES90 is elevated with six ambient light themes, and an electrochromic panoramic roof with up to 99.9% UV protection and allows adjustable transparency for glare reduction and privacy. In addition, a four-zone climate system with advanced air purification filters up to 95% of PM2.5 particles and 99.9% of pollen and allergens.

The cabin is one of Volvo’s quietest ever, allowing occupants to fully appreciate its premium audio experience. A top-tier Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity Sound System with 25 speakers, Dolby Atmos® spatial audio, and an Abbey Road Studios–inspired mode comes standard, delivering exceptional sound from the moment you step inside. Convenience is further enhanced with a more intuitive user interface powered by its next-generation infotainment system with Google built-in, supported by the 5G-capable Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform. A 14.5-inch centre display manages navigation, entertainment, climate, and phone integration, while a 9-inch driver display and head-up display provide essential driving information at a glance.

A New Standard for Sustainable Luxury

Against the backdrop of Singapore’s vision of cleaner energy vehicles by 2040 and a greener future, the ES90 boasts one of the lowest carbon footprints of any Volvo car to date. Produced with climate-neutral energy, a third-party verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which evaluates the vehicle’s environmental impact across its entire lifecycle, confirms that the ES90’s total carbon footprint is approximately 50% lower than its mild-hybrid equivalent, the S90.

Sustainability extends throughout the vehicle’s material and interior. The ES90 is built with approximately 29% recycled aluminium, 18% recycled steel, and 16% recycled polymers, complemented by bio-based materials such as FSC certified word in the cabin. Every detail reflects Volvo’s commitment to combining refined luxury with environmental mindfulness, ensuring that elegance and sustainability go hand in hand.
