WINE RETAILER BOTTLES & BOTTLES RETURNS WITH AN EXPLORATION OF KEY WINE REGIONS AT ITS ANNUAL SHOWCASE

Boasting over 50 wineries and 200 selections from all over the globe, the event held by homegrown brand is set to impress both consumers and F&B partners

Reprising its yearly wine showcase for wine seekers and community, Bottles & Bottles readies itself for the 2023 edition just ahead of festive season. This time, the showcase is held in partnership with the Sommelier Association of Singapore (SAS) and in tandem with the Singapore National Sommelier Competition.

Come 29 October, wine enthusiasts can look forward to an enviable exploration of wineries and wine producers championing sustainable standards and practices. In the presence of winemakers and brand ambassadors who have flown in specially for this showcase, wine lovers will get to taste over 220 wines in a span of six hours and cop their favourites home at showcase-exclusive prices.

While previously held as a standalone event fronted by Bottles & Bottles for their consumers to appreciate the wide range availability at the retailer, the showcase this year changes things up with its collaboration with the Sommelier Association of Singapore. Taking place in tandem with SAS’ annual Great Escape and the National Sommelier Competition, this year’s edition sees Bottles & Bottles coming on-board as the main sponsor.

Having delivered consumers quality wines at accessible rates over the years, branching out into trade partnerships is a welcome next endeavour. Dipping its toes into the F&B scene as a wholesaler, the brand’s long-standing relationships with an assortment of winegrowers and producers prove to be a value-add for an ever-changing dining industry focused on bringing the best expressions while being mindful of their provenance to their diners.

With a diverse selection of offerings available to indulge any type of wine drinker, the one-day-event will allow customers to explore and sample new finds before purchasing their favourite bottles at showcase-exclusive prices with up to 30% of savings. Purchases over S$350 come with free islandwide delivery (otherwise S$15) with the option of in-store pickup available.

In their commitment to showcase an evolving range of reds, whites and sparkling wines, the folks at Bottles & Bottles are set to exhibit over 30 wineries spotlighting key wine terroirs in Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, Spain and South Africa.

Anthonij Rupert – South AfricaFounded by Anthonij Rupert in the wine capital of South Africa’s Western Cape, is a prestigious wine estate sprawling 5 major brands: Protea wines, Terra del Capo Italian varietal wines, Cape of Good Hope site specific wines and the Anthonij Rupert flagship range. Located in the foreground of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains, the grapes are vinified on-site in 4 state-of-the-art cellars to produce spectacular terroir-driven wines.
Balthasar Ress – GermanyThe largest organic wine estate in Hessen is a family-run enterprise now in the reins of fifth generation owner Christian Ress since its founding in 1870. Developing the best of Rheingau vineyards into top-market bottles, Balthasar Ress is best-known for its fine Rieslings and Pinot Noirs.
Batasiolo – ItalyFamed for growing some of the world’s best Barolo wines from the eponymous Nebbiolo da

Barolo grape varietals found in the Langhes district, Beni di Batasiolo is a winery helmed by the Dogliani family over the last fifty years. Spread over 10 iconic vineyards, the estate produces a myriad of wines from deep reds to sparkling wines and moscatos.

Bodega Norton – ArgentinaSprawling over 5 vineyards at the base of the Andes mountains and is home to some of the region’s oldest vines – at over 93 years on account of it being one of the first wineries in Mendoza. Known for its iconic collections like the Privada (from the Swarovski family’s private cellar) and the Lote, a single vineyard line of premium wines, orton has become synonymous with Argentinian wine worldwide.
Cantina Di Negrar – ItalyArmed with over 90 years of Italian winemaking expertise, Cantina di Negrar wines has its roots in the Valpolicella and the Veronese wine-growing areas. Lauded for its Amarones – created from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, the winery controls the entire production chain from harvesting to bottling in order to maintain its high standards.
Cape Mentelle – AustraliaStarting off with just 16 hectares of planted vines in 1970, Cape Mentelle is one of the founding five wineries of the esteemed Margaret River region, home to some of the finest productions of
shiraz, semillon and chardonnay varietals. Known for making their own compost, utilising 100% renewable energy and having installed solar panels to reduce carbon emissions, the winery was the first in Western Australia to receive the Entwine accreditation and is a dedicated member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
Champagne Bauchet – FranceLocated in the prolific Champagne region, Champagne Bauchet covers 34 hectares encompassing 7 different terroirs. Most notable for its Premier Cru, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varietals, over the last 5 generations, they have perfected the art of adopting different harvesting techniques best-suited to the different terroirs.
Champagne Chavost – FranceDedicated to environmental betterment, Champagne Chavost proudly owns a line of cuvees with no added sulphites in addition to its traditional range. Vinified using organic farming, spontaneous yeats and without the use of barrels, the champagne house seeks to revolutionise decades-old champagne making traditions.
Champagne Lombard – FranceWholly organic as of 2022, from the terroirs of Épernay come champagne varieties that boast a signature mineral identity of the cru they inhabit. Under the stewardship of fourth-generation owner Thomas Lombard, the philosophy of Champagne Lombard champions a four-pronged approach to winemaking where careful attention is given to the soil, topography, climate and viticulture.
Churchill’s – PortugalSpecialising in Premium Port and Duoro wine categories, Churchill’s is the first of its kind of a British port wine company. Over the last 40 years, it has been doling out exceptional bottles of wines made in founder Johny Graham’s unique style with a focus on sustainable methods. Distinguished by its freshness and purity of fruit notes, it is presently known as the supplier of boutique port.
Delta Wines – New ZealandLaunched initially with only the intention to grow top-shelf quality Pinot Noir in Marlborough by three oenophiles and veterans, Delta Wines has expanded to other varietals like Sauvignon
Blanc and Chardonnay. The winery now covers regions like Hawkes Bay and Hatters Hill – famed for their merlot and sauvignon blanc expressions and is invested in delivering true-to-terroir expressions with the least amount of influence on natural production.

Faustino – SpainA family-owned winery with over 160 years of history, Bodegas Faustino is born in a region that is best known for producing some of the finest Reserva and Gran Reserva wines in the world – a proposition exemplified by its iconic Faustino I Gran Reserva 2010 that claimed the most sold DOCa Rioja Gran Reserva in the world with nearly 40% of wine sales in its category.
Joseph Mellot – FranceJoseph Mellot is a family-owned winery that is now at its 4th generation. Known as the only winery that owns vines and produces wines from the seven main appellations of the Central Loire region, it was also one of the first domaines in the region to obtain the ISO 40001 certification, the international standard for effective environmental management as well as the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification awarded by the French Ministry of Agriculture.
Lupe Cholet – FranceSituated in Burgundy in the vineyards of Chablis and Cote d’Or over 24 hectares, Lupe Cholet engages wine growers all over the region to access the best grapes. Employing techniques like cold maceration before fermentation, the folks at Lupe Cholet are believers in the trifecta of soil, vine and skill needed to create sublime expressions that age beautifully.
Maison Champy – FranceTouted as the oldest wine company in Burgundy with operations beginning over 300 years ago, Maison Champy’s heritage building was built in 1890 in the Eiffel style. Known as the birthplace of the pasteurisation method of wine preservation, the winery has remained at the forefront of pushing boundaries, turning parts of its estate to organic agriculture.
McArthur Ridge – New ZealandAgainst the backdrop of mountainous terrain in Central Otago, McArthur Ridge is the southernmost Pinot Noir region in the world. The cool climate and hot but short-lived summers give rise to quality Pinot Noir production. As a result of a meticulous selection and winemaking process, only a small percentage of harvest actually turns into a pristine bottle.
Mistral Gin & Chateau Guiraud – FranceClassed as the Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855, the estate has been organic certified since

2011 under the leadership of 4 partners: Robert Peugeot and three wine makers: Olivier Bernard, Stephan Von Neipperg and Xavier Planty. Owing to the oceanic climate, the wines produced here boast a complex aromatic palette with a strong minerality.

Blending the terroir know-how of Provence with gin, comes a craft rosé dry gin from the South of France with deliciously botanical- influences like basil, fennel, mint, eucalyptus to name just a few.

Nicolas Potel – FranceChoosing to line their growing process according to the bio-dynamic calendar of the region, the winery sources their grapes from 35 year old vineyards and organic growers while keeping the winemaking process very traditional with natural yeast fermentation. The result is a fruit-forward range of wines that are internationally acclaimed from Villages and Premier Crus to Grand Crus.
Philippe & Vincent Jaboulet – FranceA multi-generational, family-owned endeavour in the Rhone valley, the winery produces wines from 30 hectares ranging from Cross-Hermitage, Hermitage, Cornas and IGP. With a HVE level 3 certification, they ensure the bio environment thrives – be it in the form of motivating insect and avian reproduction alongside viniculture.
Pierre Chainier – FranceHome to some of the best Sauvignon, Pierre Chainier is located on the banks of Loire River. Equipped with all necessary accreditations like the ISO 9001, HACCP, BRC, the winery swathes over 250 hectares and 8 estates and produces in addition to a private label, customised collections with a foothold in ancestral know-how.
Ponte 1948 – ItalyMainly producing in Treviso and Venice for Prosecco DOC and Pinot Grigio varieties, Ponte uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure a quality process from harvest to temperature-controlled fermentation to bottling. The wine company oversees over 1000 wine families over 3000 hectares in the historically-prized Veneto region.
Portia And Campillo – SpainA modern winery designed by architectural studio Foster & Partners, the brand offers small production wines that are intense and balanced courtesy of its extreme climate conditions. Also occupying the ‘golden triangle’ of the Ribera del Duero region, the highly elevated plots are mostly dedicated to the Tempranillo grape variety.

Located in one of the highest and coolest altitudes of Rioja, Campillo represents an experimental approach to winemaking that is distinctly non-Riojan with its brighter and strong-bodied products. Its portfolio includes the standard Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva trio with other bottlings added at later stages

Riddoch – AustraliaHailing from the Coonawarra region in Australia, Riddoch is named after founding-entrepreneur John Riddoch. Demonstrating the perfect typography for wine production with a rich soil over a limestone bedrock, the reds made here are fresh and complex with standouts like the merlot, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon.
Rupert & Rothschild – South AfricaThe confluence of two heritage families in this Franschhoek estate started off with a typical French approach to viticulture: making 2 Bordeaux blends and one Chardonnay that still continues today through its legacy to its next generations. From the star of the range – the lush Baron Edmund to the popular red, Classique and the crisp and elegant Baroness Nadine, the winery reifies its international standing with these 3 exquisite offerings.
Sons of Eden – AustraliaA small-scale producer that believes in a hands-off approach with minimal intervention, Sons of Eden is a bastion of terroir-driven winemaking backed by its founders – Winemaker Corey Ryan and Viticulturist Simon Cowham. Awarded the James Halliday 5 Red Star Winery for 11 years in a row, the duo have a combined expertise of over 50 years, specializing in Barossa vintages.
Teusner – AustraliaConceived as a last-ditch effort in 2001 to save a veteran Barossa vineyard from extinction, Teusner Wines is an unapologetic, people-forward winery led by Kym Teusner and Mick Page. With a belief rooted in the importance of wine-growers, the winery focuses on lees aging and no fining or filtration. Breaking away from tradition, their wines also have eclectic names evoking a distinct charm while spotlighting the grapes that produce their top-line pours.
