Mid-Autumn Festive Celebration At Takashimaya Is Back!

Takashimaya celebrates Mid-Autumn and gifting in-store and online from over 50 brands from Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong this year.

As Mooncake Festival approaches with the gradual ease of COVID-19 restrictions, Takashimaya Department Store will be welcoming back its highly-anticipated Mid-Autumn Festive Celebration at Takashimaya Square, B2 this year from 4 August to 10 September 2022.

Takashimaya Department Store presents a series of best-selling signature premium mooncakes of over 50 brands and goodies for shoppers to celebrate this heart-warming festival spent with loved ones.

Mid-autumn Festival is traditionally celebrated through family gatherings, where mooncakes are eaten while the moon shines bright and round in its full glory, signifying prosperity and reunion.

With the increasing popularity of this festive celebration in Singapore, more creative and interesting new flavours are being introduced aside from the usual customary classic lotus seed paste and egg yolk mooncakes.

Amongst the traditional baked classics – White Lotus Paste with Single or Double Yolk, there is a brand-new Pandan Paste with Pumpkin Seed from Pan Pacific Singapore, retaining its quintessential essence and complemented with a fragrant Pandan flavour. Pan Pacific Singapore also presents 5 unique snow skin mooncake flavours to those who favour more contemporary and innovative varieties, including the best-selling Mao Shan Wang Durian, Peppermint Paste with Chamomile Truffle, Rose Lychee, White Lotus Paste with Salted Egg Yolk and Hazelnut Chocolate with Matcha.

While Andaz Singapore brilliantly took our favourite local tea and infused it in a mooncake, the Teh Gao Siew Dai features a creamy concoction of rich lotus paste infused with fragrant milk tea, packing a whole punch of flavour and an aroma like no other.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay makes its debut at the most highly-anticipated mooncake fair in Singapore, with their signature Charcoal Black Sesame Paste with Melon Seeds and Gold Dust, and the sought after Lychee with Wolfberries by Peach Blossoms.

This iconic affair will not be completed without the all-time-favourite brands such as Peony Jade, Home’s Favourite, Tai Chong Kok and Goodwood Park Hotel. Apart from the return of crowd favourites like the Strawberry, Mango with Pomelo, Cempedak and D24 Durian snow skin mooncakes, Goodwood Park Hotel is introducing a brand new Traditional Baked Pastries series, which includes the adorable Tiger Tubbies; each filled with lotus seed paste and a quarter of golden salted egg yolk, exclusive to the Year of the Tiger. Not forgetting the Mini Egg Custard Mooncake – light, buttery casing with dense and rich filling, from The Peninsula Boutique (HK), which is now well-considered as the modern classic too.

Imperial Patisserie (HK) returns once again with its most notable Lava Custard Mooncakes, which has won the world’s highest award – the Grand Gold in 2019. Second to it would be the Gold-Award winner, White Lotus Seed Paste Mooncakes With Two Yolks – that has a smooth consistency by combining top-notch lotus seeds and egg yolks, along with Red Bean Paste Mooncakes with Mandarin Peel.

This year, Kele is making a comeback with a more extensive and exciting menu after excellent response received for their newly revamped menu last year. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind Tropical Snowskin Mooncake series infused with the zing of citrusy and tangy tropical fruits. Ju Dim Sum Restaurant, Signature Flaky Teochew Orh Nee Mooncake Series (Takashimaya Exclusive)

Deviating from the common traditional and snowskin mooncakes, Ju Dim Sum Restaurant makes its first appearance with its Signature Flaky Teochew Orh Nee Mooncakes. Each of them is carefully handcrafted with premium ingredients and with no preservatives added, the velvety-smooth and creamy Orh Nee filling has the perfect amount of sweetness under that flaky Teochew pastry crust.

Such Teochew-style mooncakes can also be found at August Baking Studio. Encased within these meticulously layered swirls are either White Lotus paste with reduced sugar, Pandan Lotus paste, Red Bean paste or Black Sesame paste. These delicious treats can be savoured without worrying too much about the calories!
