We recently get to review the Sharp GX-BT480 portable Bluetooth speaker powered by Onkyo which promises 20 hours of play time on the go, with a 10,400 mAh battery. It comes with IP54 protection which also assures durability against environmental factors such as dust ingress and water splashes.

What we like about this model is the solid design. It has a sizeable weight which enable it to blast out strong clear music, even in open space. It has a 2.0ch system with a maximum audio output of 100dB, the speaker is versatile and delivers high definition spatial sound audible in most environments. It comes with a carrier belt so that users could carry it with them on-the-go

We also appreciate it comes with a Micro SD card slot, USB input, and 3.5mm AUX input. Wirelessly connect with it via Bluetooth 4.2 which has a maximum connection distance of 50 metres. Audio from multiple speakers can be synched with Sharp’s True Wireless Stereo technology for a seamless surround sound system. Such versatile connectivity allows user to expand the use beyond just a wireless speaker.

Another feature we liked is the equalizer modes of this speaker. The GX-BT480 comes with three equalizer modes. The standard mode which regulates the volume of the different frequencies at the same level. Next, the bass boost mode for a deeper and more impactful bass. Lastly, the movie mode which enhances dialogue and vocals. We tested all the modes. The bass boost mode is perfect for those party moments outdoors or by the pool. The movie mode is perfect for those Netflix moments when you stay home to catch up on some drama. Maximum audio output of 100dB SPL for an immersive, dynamic and powerful sound range. If you are into smart devices, this speaker is equipped with a built-in microphone, when the speaker is wirelessly connected with your mobile devices, it automatically interfaces with Apple’s SIRI and Google’s smart assistant, recognizing the respective voice prompts.
