Take the date night up a notch with handcrafted Italian specialties complemented by panoramic city views at il Cielo, one of the most romantic semi-alfresco Michelin-plated rooftop Italian restaurants in the city. Nestled on level 24, couples can expect thoughtful and intricate creations using fresh, seasonal Italian and Japanese ingredients presented by resident Chef Yohhei Sasaki. Begin the five-course experience with a glass of Champagne followed by a delightful surprise of a warm starter that is Insalata all Cacciatore: a deconstructed traditional stewed meat dish with dollops of chicken mousse and mushroom mayonnaise over marinated butter lettuce sprinkled with dried olive and tomato powder.
Next, indulge in Anguilla e Foie Gras alla Rossini: a luxurious combination of Japanese eel and foie gras topped with aromatic Shimonita negi (white onion) and sanshō pepper truffle sauce, followed by Raviolo di Astice: squares of homemade ravioli packed with layers of succulent lobster meat, cacao garlic cream and earthy beetroot. Couples can choose between two mains of Capesante e Tartufo Nero: fresh Hokkaido scallops with creamy celeriac purée finished with freshly shaved winter black truffles or Brasato di Manzo: braised crossbreed Japanese Murata Wagyu with crunchy radicchio tardive and smoked Scamorza cheese drizzled with bittersweet Valrhona dark chocolate sauce.
Conclude the evening on a sweet note with Sformato di Cioccolato Bianco e Rosa; a treat on the palate with a milky rich Valrhona white chocolate lava cake harmonized with rose gelato and raspberry gel. The dinner menu is priced from $168 per person (February 14) and $158 per person (February 13 and 15), both inclusive of a glass of Champagne.
A Sizzling Date Night at Opus Bar & Grill • February 13 to 15, 2020
Celebrate the significant annual season of love at Opus Bar & Grill with a four-course Valentine’s themed semi-sharing menu featuring a selection of grilled specialties for each couple. Toast to a memorable evening with a glass of Champagne followed by a sharing starter of half-dozen freshly shucked oysters with caviar and crab salad with avocado and beetroot carpaccio. Next, go “Under the Sea” with a whole baked Mornay lobster and oven-baked scallops on shell to share. Couples will have a choice of meat options for their main including the 200g roasted New Zealand tenderloin or a whole grilled butterflied sakura spring chicken, accompanied with a selection of Chef’s handpicked side dishes. Complete the dining experience and surprise the loved one with a “Sweet Amour” dessert; a heart-shaped cake infused with an aromatic bittersweet Valrhona 70% Guanaja dark chocolate balanced with tarty cherry compote and cocoa financiers. The four-course menu is priced at $228 per couple, including two glasses of Champagne.
