Cannes becomes the world capital of luxury yachting and the biggest global in-water showcase for new super yachts
From 10am, sea lovers, yachting enthusiasts, seasoned visitors or those who are just curious, will be able to discover a world that gives pride of place to the dream of luxury yachting. The Cannes Yachting Festival, inaugural event of the nautical season, opens its doors today for its 42st edition, and will be welcoming visitors from around the world until 6 pm on Sunday, 15 September. “After nearly a month of fitting and installation, we’re ready! As is the case every year, we’ve put all the necessary means in place to enable visitors to discover the very best of the French and international offer in luxury yachting and monohull or multihull motorboats or sailing boats, in the idyllic setting of the French Riviera. This year the Yachting Festival is organised between the two ports: the Vieux Port hosts the ultimate in motor boats while Port Canto becomes the new showcase for the most beautiful sailing boats. Visitors can use the various types of free sea and land shuttles provided to get from one port to another easily. However, we recommend they take the boat to enjoy a fleeting moment on the water, with a magnificent view of the Croisette and the bay of Cannes,” says Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
This year, for six days, prominent figures from the world of sailing will tread the docks of the Yachting Festival and numerous sailing events are taking place:
