Wine Fiesta goes indoors and offers a new way to explore wines
From 19 to 20 October, Wine Fiesta 2018 will be held indoors at the Fullerton Bay Hotel and introduces an easy way to discover new wines.
This year’s Wine Fiesta shines the spotlight on body-types. By tagging wines according to whether they are light, medium or full-bodied, wine-lovers will find it simple to search for and taste their favourite types of wine.
Held from 19 to 21 October, Wine Fiesta showcases wine from around the world. And for the first time in its 11-year history, Wine Fiesta will be held indoors. In the air-conditioned comfort of the beautiful Fullerton Bay Hotel, guests can drink, eat and explore over 250 wines.
“We know our guests want to indulge in variety, and to learn more about the world of wine in a fun, relaxed atmosphere,” says Ms Kathy Lim-Sheehy, Group CEO of the Straits Wine Company. “And we can’t wait to show everyone our new way of presenting wines by varietal and body-style.”
The Fiesta kicks off on 19 October with the Winemakers’ Table Dinner at the Clifford Pier in Fullerton Bay Hotel. This four-course sit-down dinner has a menu created by Dutch chef Tim Meijers. Chef Meijers has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe and his menu showcases the best of local and international ingredients.
The dinner also features an Iconic Wine buffet bar, where guests can enjoy over 70 iconic wines from around the world. Wine-makers will be in attendance to tell the stories behind their wines. This is a rare opportunity to try special wines and savour fabulous food in one exclusive evening.
Tickets for the Winemakers’ Table Dinner are priced at $188 nett per person. Purchase 11 tickets and one free ticket will be given.
On 20 to 21 October, the Fiesta goes into full swing as guests discover new wines in an effortless manner. Faced with an unfamiliar label or wine varietal? Knowing a wine’s body can help you pick a bottle based on what you’ve enjoyed before. Compare a big Barossa Shiraz with full-bodied reds from other countries. Or perhaps you prefer a light Italian Pinot Grigio. It’s just a step away to try similar styles from other regions. By tagging wines according to light, medium and full-bodied types, Wine Fiesta is making wine tasting and exploration more accessible than ever.
The international wine-makers will be on hand to share their insight, passion and stories. Guests who want to learn more about wine are welcome to join their expert-led classes.
