
Organised by a 30-Year-Old Singaporean woman-preneur, Sky Grande Prix has come a long way from a 1-day after-party held in a restaurant with 800 attendees in 2012 to a 5-day extravaganza that saw an attendance of 3,000 guests at martini bar, Grand Hyatt Singapore this year.
This shepreneur has spent the last 7 years curating Sky Grande Prix bringing in local and international brands as sponsors and partners. Having created an authoritative brand name in the world of affordable luxury, she connects these various lifestyle brands to their target demographics through such events.
In partnership with title sponsor JiojioMe, Sky Grande Prix 2018 boasted a 5-day line up with a different theme every evening. Party attendees were conveniently given a cashless experience at the bar when they downloaded the JiojioMe app to redeem a Singapore Sling Freeze from True Heritage Brew using 10 JCASH. On 12 September, Sky Grande Prix kicked off with a Glamour Pit Stop – a ladies’ night dedicated to fashion and beauty. Vanilla Luxury unveiled its second wave of female tastemakers after the success of their first. The female tastemakers are ladies who are experts in their field and provide insights into their worlds be at fashion, media, real estate, hospitality or social services. These ladies were dressed by Canadian fashion label Joseph Ribkoff that is one of the leading brands in Takashimaya; newly launched local shoe brand Toufie custom designed stylish and comfortable heels for the ladies; hair and makeup was done by the students of One Academy.

13 September saw the launch of dunhill CENTURY. Guests were entertained by an illusionist who at one point pulled a bottle of dunhill CENTURY fragrance out of his smart tablet! Whisky fans were also able to enjoy the Macallan Flight Experience hosted by Brand
Ambassador James Ting who narrated the history of the whisky and how four different single malt versions were made.
Gursheel has always been questioned about why only women were chosen as Vanilla Luxury’s tastemakers. So, she took this opportunity to launch the Vanilla Luxury male tastemakers F1 edition. In partnership with dunhill and Macallan, Vanilla Luxury’s male tastemakers were awarded and recognised for their entrepreneurial success. Awardees included Dato Dr Nicholas Ho, Executive Director of Seristine Group of Companies, Dinos Demetriades, Director of Achilles Capital, and Lester Tan, CEO of Jio Technologies Ltd.
On Friday and Saturday, hype man YoungMe got the crowd to get on their feet and dance with the professional dancers from Moshi Moshi Bollywood. 15 September also saw Miss World Singapore winner Vanessa Peh Ting Ting, first runner-up Shonalie Raha, and second runner-up Vanessa Tiara party at Sky Grande Prix. The beauty pageant contestants had successfully raised $4 million during the Inaugural Beauty With A Purpose Charity Gala for Sian Chay Medical Institution.
On 16 September, guests indulged in a specially created F1-themed menu from award-winning Mezza9 with dishes such Grilled Black Onyx Beef Sliders, Fine de Claire Oysters, and Scotch Eggs as they watched the live screening of the final race and witnessed Lewis Hamilton take the trophy. Locals, expats and tourists all joined in the after-party that went on till late.
