The eight best doubles teams in women’s tennis gathered at CHIJMES to determine their match ups at the Official Doubles draw ceremony for the 2017 BNP Paribas WTA Finals presented by SC Global.
The draw saw top seeds Martina Hingis and Chan Yung-Jan matched up against No. 6 seed Kveta Peschke and Anna-Lena Groenefeld, while defending champions Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova were drawn against fifth seed Xu Yifan and Gabriela Dabrowski.


Sharing her thoughts on the Doubles draw Melissa Pine, Vice-President of WTA Asia-Pacific and the Tournament Director of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, said, “The Porsche Race to Singapore has brought the best doubles pairs here, and from the draw today, we are sure fans can expect to witness some dazzling footwork and sizzling contests as the teams vie to be crowned the best in the world.”

At the session, the players were treated to a culinary experience as they tasted “Journey through Asia on a plate”, an Asia-inspired degustation menu specially-curated by award-winning Coriander Leaf restaurant’s Chef de Cuisine, Iskander Latiff.
