Elephant Grounds Opens in Singapore

Elephant Grounds make its Singapore debut, opening at Guoco Midtown, Beach Road Saturday, 10 January 2026.

Founded in 2013 as a humble neighbourhood coffee counter, Elephant Grounds has grown into one of Hong Kong’s most recognisable lifestyle café concepts, celebrated for its specialty coffee, from-scratch bakery, and thoughtfully designed spaces that invite guests to slow down and stay awhile. At its core is a simple yet enduring idea: to create cafés that reflect how people truly live, gather, and spend time in effortless ways.

The Singapore outpost stays true to this philosophy. Conceived as a genuine third space, neither home nor office, it offers an airy, design-led setting that moves seamlessly from weekday coffee moments to long, relaxed brunches and unhurried afternoons, encouraging lingering and conversation at a natural pace.

Coffee remains central to the Elephant Grounds experience. Built on a foundation of careful sourcing and in-house roasting, the coffee programme features house blends sourced from Ijen Lestari, alongside premium single-origin coffees selected for balance, clarity, and character. Designed to follow guests beyond the café, the offering extends into everyday routines through whole beans, drip bags, and capsules, bringing the Coffee n’ Chill philosophy into homes, offices, and holiday escapes.

Food is given equal weight, with the bakery envisioned as both a visual and culinary anchor. As one of only two Elephant Grounds locations in the region to feature an on-site production kitchen, the Singapore outpost bakes breads, pastries, and croissants entirely from scratch throughout the day, reinforcing its commitment to craft, freshness, and everyday ritual. Together with menus shaped by comfort and clarity, Elephant Ground’s grub reflect a belief that good food should feel intuitive, generous, and easy to return to.

For all-day enjoyment, expect familiar favourites prepared with care, restraint, and an emphasis on quality ingredients:

  • Signature Croissants: Widely regarded among the best in Hong Kong, Elephant Grounds’ croissants are crafted using a non-traditional lamination technique that blends French and Japanese methods. Baked fresh throughout the day, the line-up includes classics and elevated interpretations, such as Chocolate, Almond, and the Banoffee.
  • Mr & Mrs Shakshuka: A brunch staple served two ways: Mr Shakshuka, featuring toasted sourdough, chorizo, feta, and cilantro; and Mrs Shakshuka, a vibrant plant-forward version with tofu, pumpkin, zucchini, olives, and spiced tomato salsa.
  • Founders’ Granola & Açai Yoghurt Bowl: Made in small batches using an in-house recipe, Founders’ Granola (also sold separately) anchors the Açai Yoghurt Bowl – a light yet satisfying expression of the brand’s ingredient-first approach.
  • Tuna Poke Donburi: Chunky fresh tuna paired with avocado, spring onion, tempura flakes, and an onsen egg, offering a clean, well-balanced bowl with a subtle Asian sensibility.
  • EG Burger: A hearty, crowd-pleasing staple built around a wagyu beef patty, layered with cheddar, rocket, and tomato, and served with crisp fries.

With the island-state now part of its journey, Elephant Grounds invites the city to discover its own spin on Coffee n’ Chill at Guoco Midtown, where craft, comfort, and time well spent come together with ease.
