The Grande Whisky Museum (TGWM) has etched its name in history, securing not one, but two Guinness World Records titles. The esteemed museum now holds the titles for the “Most Valuable Whisky/Whiskey Collection” valued at an astounding SGD 128,630,196, and the “Most Valuable Bottle of Whisky/Whiskey” valued at SGD 3,621,582. In celebration of this extraordinary feat, a Guinness World Records official adjudicator is set to present the official certificates on the 25th of October 2023.
A Whisky Wonderland
Nestled in the heart of Suntec City, The Grande Whisky Museum sprawls across an impressive 8,000 square feet, housing an exceptional collection of over 7,000 rare and vintage whiskies. Within these hallowed walls, whisky enthusiasts can marvel at selections from the world’s oldest and still operational distilleries, as well as treasures from closed establishments, making TGWM one of the largest private whisky collections accessible to the public.
Behind imposing steel vault doors, the collection exudes an air of rarity and intrigue. Revered for its auction-worthy special edition sets, the museum features house bottles that rank among the rarest on the global stage. Handblown glass bottles, hand-painted porcelain one-run sets, commemorative whiskies in designer crystal flasks, and even bottles signed by Master Blenders and royalty grace the museum’s shelves. Photography is prohibited within these hallowed halls, further emphasizing the extraordinary nature of these whiskies.
A Journey Through Whisky’s Heartlands
TGWM offers an interactive and sensory experience, guiding visitors through a labyrinth of interconnected paths, allowing them to explore the whisky-producing regions of Scotland, from the Highlands to Islay, and then to Japan. Whisky Ambassadors regale guests with lesser-known insights and stories, ranging from Scotland’s most seasoned distilleries to the history of whisky production in Japan. The tour culminates with a limited-edition premier champagne collection, offering a fitting end to an immersive 45-minute to 60-minute whisky education.
Membership Privileges
In addition to the immersive tours, TGWM is set to launch an exclusive membership program, tailored for whisky connoisseurs. Memberships range from S$5,000 to S$100,000 per person. These esteemed members will receive credits for use in purchasing drinks or bottles from Saint-Louis House, along with special invitations to Master Blender events and opportunities to acquire rare bottles, including those from the TGWM vault. This exclusive program serves as a testament to TGWM’s commitment to fostering a community of whisky enthusiasts.
The Saint-Louis House and Museum Lounge
For VIP members, TGWM boasts the region’s exclusive Saint-Louis House lounge, alongside a Museum lounge accessible to the public. These bars offer an extensive range of quality whiskies, including rare selections available for purchase as whisky flights. The selection spans blended whiskies and 50-year-old rarities from both Scotland and Japan. Visitors will also have the opportunity to marvel at bespoke and exclusive Saint-Louis crystal chandeliers, limited pieces of Chardon Poché, and other meticulously crafted crystalware imported from Europe’s oldest crystal glassmaker.
