The smash hit musical that has taken over Broadway, & JULIET is coming to Singapore for a strictly limited season from 21 September to 8 October 2023 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands. & JULIET will be making its premiere and only Asian stop in Singapore.
With a book by Emmy® Award-winning Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read and music from legendary five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter/producer Max Martin, & JULIET sees Shakespeare’s most famous love story remixed with some of the most iconic pop songs of the last three decades in an uplifting story of self-discovery, empowerment and love.
& JULIET flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, imagining what would happen if Juliet had not ended it all for Romeo and got a second chance at life and love – on her terms.
Juliet’s new story bursts to life through an addictive playlist of pop anthems by legendary scribe Max Martin and friends, including Since U Been Gone, Roar, Baby One More Time, Larger Than Life, That’s The Way It Is, Can’t Stop the Feeling, plus a brand- new song written especially for the show by Martin.
& JULIET will arrive in Singapore direct from a blockbuster season in Melbourne where critics and audiences alike have been going wild for the show every single night.
& JULIET’S Australian Producer, who is also producing the Singapore season, Michael Cassel said, “We have seen, time and time again, that audiences in Singapore love a good night out and & JULIET promises to do that. This remarkable production, takes decades of Max Martin’s extraordinary hits and wraps them around a hot new take on the greatest love story ever told – creating the biggest party in the city and we can’t wait to party in Singapore.”
Striving to make Singapore the Broadway of Asia, live entertainment company Base Entertainment Asia has always had their finger on the pulse of what audiences want to watch, and has successfully secured and presented many Asia Premieres of renowned international productions here. Chief Executive Officer of Base Entertainment Asia Chantal Prudhomme said that Singaporeans should not miss the opportunity to watch the musical when it is here, before it gets even bigger.
& JULIET is produced by Michael Cassel Group in association with MTM/Leyline and is presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme. The show is produced on Broadway and internationally by Max Martin, Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Jenny Petersson, Martin Dodd.
& JULIET’s original creative team includes David West Read (Book), Max Martin & Friends (Music & Lyrics), Luke Sheppard (Direction), Jennifer Weber (Choreography), Bill Sherman (Musical Supervision, Orchestrations and Arrangements), Soutra Gilmour (Scenic Design), Paloma Young (Costume Design), Howard Hudson (Lighting Design), Gareth Owen (Sound Design) and Andrzej Goulding (Video & Projection Design.
& JULIET had its World Premiere in September 2019 at the Manchester Opera House in England, before moving to London’s West End, where it began performances in November 2019 at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London and went on to win three Olivier Awards. The show had its North American premiere in July 2022 in Toronto, where it broke box office records and played to standing-room-only audiences, before heading to Broadway, where it has again broken box office records and played to sold-out crowds. WORLD-FAMOUS ENTERTAINER AND INTERNATIONAL MAGICIAN OF THE YEAR,
COSENTINO CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF GLOBAL SUCCESS

FLAMING JAWS:
Cosentino was the 1st in the world to do this demonstration and the pioneer of the escape.
‘Flaming Jaws’ takes death-defying escapes to a whole new level. Cosentino is placed and shackled inside a regulation straitjacket, then attached upside down by his ankle’s underneath to the Jaws and hoisted into the air. The enormous set of steel jaws is held open by a single rope and set alight. Once the rope snaps the the steel jaws will come crashing down destroying anything or anyone that gets in its path.
Cosentino is now in a race to save his own life, he has 90 seconds to successfully escape the straitjacket, release himself from the burning rope and drop to the ground before the crushing force of the sharp-teethed jaws come crashing together in the ultimate climax.
•
STABBED: A Cosentino Original Creation Cosentino puts his psychic abilities to the test.
18 razor-sharp kitchen knives dangle above Cosentino’s head. The knives are connected and controlled by a sand timer. 2 padlocks and 350 identical keys are introduced. However, only two of the keys will actually open the locks.
A volunteer takes note of the correct keys (once the locks are opened and proven to work). Next, they drop the keys into a tray with the others and mix them up. In other words, lose the 2 correct keys in the bunch.
Cosentino has 90 seconds to escape the trap by franticly sifting through all the keys looking, trying and hoping to find the correct ones. Will his skills prevail or will the escape end badly?
STRANGER THINGS: A Cosentino Original Presentation
It’s been stated that two solid objects cannot occupy the same space at the exact same time. Very often we see the world around us as being solid, but… that’s not entirely true! The world is actually made up of millions of molecules that are separated and bouncing around. Nothing we look at is truly one hundred percent solid – it just appears that way. So if we didn’t necessarily see the world around us as solid but rather flexible could we actually change our physical reality as well?
Cosentino attempts to challenge that notion. A solid steel plate is introduced and displayed to the audience. Cosentino then melts through it bit by bit. The audience won’t believe their eyes as his body physically penetrates the plate. First his head, then his shoulders, followed by his legs and finally his entire body. It is a magical and marvellous illusion to watch.
A show suitable for all ages, Cosentino: Decennium – The Greatest Live Magic Show is a premier family
entertainment written and produced by Cosentino himself. This is the most powerful, riveting and sought after magic show in the entertainment industry today, and is presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme.
