My recent dining experience at La Scala Bangkok was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Marco, the restaurant manager, and his team took great care of us, ensuring that every aspect of our dining was memorable.
We opted for the Italian Gastronomic Journey, a 5-course set menu that promised to take us on a culinary adventure through the flavours of Italy. Each course was meticulously crafted and beautifully presented, showcasing the skill and creativity of the chefs at La Scala.
To begin our gastronomic journey, we were treated to an Amuse Bouche that awakened our taste buds and set the stage for what was to come. It was a delightful teaser of flavours and textures, leaving us eager for more.
The first course, Nasello, featured poached halibut accompanied by pumpkin and carpione. The tender and succulent halibut was perfectly cooked, and the pumpkin added a subtle sweetness that balanced the flavours. The carpione, with its tangy notes, added a delightful element of acidity to the dish.
Next, we were presented with Gnocchi, a dish that showcased the chef’s expertise in handmade pasta. The Luganega sausage gnocchi was a true highlight, with each pillowy piece of pasta infused with the savory and robust flavors of the sausage. The green bell pepper and scamorza cheese provided a delightful contrast of textures and flavours, creating a harmonious combination.
The Aragosta course featured sous vide Brittany lobster with a Mediterranean sauce. The lobster was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The Mediterranean sauce elevated the dish with its aromatic herbs and delicate balance of flavours. It was a sophisticated and elegant dish that showcased the finesse of Italian cuisine.
For the main course, we had a choice between Manzo, a charcoal-grilled dry-aged black market beef tenderloin with artichokes bearnaise, or Maiale, a pan-fried Iberico pork pluma with Ligurian sauce and sautéed curly kale. The beef tenderloin was a masterpiece, perfectly cooked and bursting with rich flavours. The artichokes bearnaise added a luxurious and velvety touch. Alternatively, the Iberico pork pluma was a succulent and tender cut of meat, complemented by the Ligurian sauce and the earthy notes of sautéed curly kale. Both dishes were a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the culinary expertise of the chefs.
To conclude our Italian journey, we savoured a classic Tiramisu. The combination of chocolate, coffee, and mascarpone created a symphony of flavours and textures. It was a decadent and indulgent dessert that satisfied our sweet cravings.
As a final treat, we were presented with petit fours, a delightful selection of bite-sized sweets that provided a perfect ending to the meal.
The 5-course Italian Gastronomic Journey at La Scala Bangkok was priced at THB 3,480++. We also opted for the wine pairing, which included four glasses of carefully selected wines for THB 1,980++. The wines complemented each course beautifully, enhancing the flavours and elevating the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, dining at La Scala Bangkok was an extraordinary experience. Marco, the restaurant manager, and his team ensured that we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. The 5-course set menu took us on a delightful journey through the flavours of Italy, with each course showcasing the culinary artistry and passion of the chefs. From the Nasello to the Tiramisu, each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented. The wine pairing added an extra layer of enjoyment, enhancing the flavours and creating a harmonious dining experience.
I highly recommend La Scala Bangkok to anyone seeking an exquisite Italian dining experience in the heart of Bangkok. The impeccable service, remarkable cuisine, and warm atmosphere make it a destination worth visiting for food enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
