The prestigious awards were presented at the exclusive, black-tie ceremony on Friday, 12 October 2018, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands.

With a total of 30 categories, the industry’s highest real estate honours encompasses the residential and commercial segments as well as design. The independent judging panel’s shortlist includes new categories for Special Recognition for Customer Care, for Design and Construction, and for Building Communities.

Other categories that have been added to this year’s expanded programme are Best Smart Building Development, Best Industrial Development, and Best Industrial Green Development.

Lim Wenhui, partner at SPARK Architects, who assumed her role as the programme’s first female head judge earlier this year, said the crop of new projects will contribute to the betterment of the small nation’s built environment.

“There are always interesting opportunities popping up in Singapore as the work continues to ‘remake the city’. As a practicing designer I’m optimistic about the short-term outlook. Continuing bullish bids for land and en bloc sales and increases in development charges are a reasonable indication that it is business as usual for most sectors,” she said.

The historic election of Lim Wenhui as the programme’s first chairwoman coincides with the selection of the first-ever female recipient of the coveted Singapore Real Estate Personality of the Year title. It is the only accolade not chosen by the judges, but by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report magazine.

SingHaiyi Group Ltd’s group managing director Celine Tang has been named for leading her company’s efforts in building world-class residential and commercial developments, as well as helping to break the glass ceiling for female CEOs in the industry.
