This February, ION Art gallery will host two solo exhibitions that explore traditional art forms with modern twists, featuring locally-trained Chinese calligrapher Goh Yau Kee’s debut exhibition and artist Zhu Wen’s ceramic art display.

Ceramic Art Exhibition presented by Zhu Wen (朱文陶瓷艺术作品展) (5 – 11 February 2018) is a unique collection of ceramic art display by Zhu Wen which showcases his exquisite style, expressing serenity and romance. With a penchant for designs of landscapes, flowers, and birds, Zhu Wen’s art presents an experience which transcends time and space. Ceramic art lovers who wish to contribute to charity can do so with the purchase of selected art pieces.

Tradition and Creativity: Calligraphy Works of Goh Yau Kee (28 February – 6 March 2018) marks the solo debut of Goh Yau Kee and his Chinese calligraphy pieces. Centered around the theme “Movement”, Yau Kee’s exhibition of over 100 artworks aim to express the fluidity of the cursive script.
Using both creative and traditional techniques, his works comprises of different calligraphy styles which include the cursive script, running hand, and seal characters.
